High quality headphones but slightly portable?
I use the AKG 271 on the go. My UE triple fi 10 doesnt match well with HM601. Trying to get used to the weird stares occassionally from people... Was thinking maybe could get some colored cables, pads and stickers to paste onto the cups to make it look nicer....- gryphon

Newbie looking for good all around cans.
The Akg 271 is a good choice. It is pretty flat in response meaning it is good for mixing. It is also closed and signals will not leak into your Mic when tracking vocals. It's also a nice sounding pair of headphones.- gryphon

You know you're an audiophile when...
I supposed audiophiles do not use eq because additional eq units add on additional electronics in the signal path which is undesirable. I do remember there are some very hi end units like cello palette that is a eq preamp itself.- gryphon

REVIEW: HiFiman HM-601
Does the 601 have enough juice to drive the 4s? Yes, agree with u regarding matching with a dark earphone. it is also too dark for my taste.- gryphon

REVIEW: HiFiman HM-601
Hi all, just bought a hm601 1 week ago. Really loved the player but realise it does not match my triple fi 10. What headphones or IEMs do you use for your portable setup? I am hunting for a closed headphone to match the HM601.- gryphon

Question about My New ATH-M50 vocal?
Its really weird. I tried a brand new set at my dealers place and find that the bass is overwhelming, the highs and mids are pretty nice. Could you try exchange with your dealer?- gryphon

Matching closed headphones for Hifiman HM601 under $250
Yes, I have tried the ESW9. It's mids are indeed nice and lush but when paired with the HM601, it becomes too lush and the highs are a little too rolled off for me...it was my first choice originally...- gryphon

AKG K172HD Sibilant??
I was torn between the Akg172 and Akg271s. The 271s does not seem be as sibilant or maybe not as ruthless in revealing the flaws of not so well recorded materials. However, the 271 seems a little too big to wear on the head in trains...- gryphon

AKG K172HD Sibilant??
Hi, I was almost on the verge of buying the AKG K172HD but find that it sounds alittle sibilant with female vocals especially poorly recorded ones. The set I tested is totally new and I was wondering if there are owners who can verify if it is really sibilant or it will disappear after...- gryphon

AT M-50 and Shure SRH 840. I have a chance to test these 2 with my HM601 as I am also hunting for headphones and they really do bass though I think the Shure has a slighly more balance sound to me. AKG 271 is pretty bass light but it does have a bigger soundstage than the AT and...
