I had the denon D5000 which its sound should be close to the D7000, going from denons to beyerdynamic T1 was a big step technically ( sound stage, treble, details and controlled bass ... ) but the sound of the T1 was kinda of anemic compared to the D5000, bright and stripped of any kind...

I'd say there's no such thing, but after hearing the Audeze LCD-2 ... let's just say it made me a believer.

you know the biggest problem with the LCD-2s is that you think you're driving them just fine but in fact they just get louder and when you actually drive them properly you'll be able to hear that effortless detailed addictive sound and ENJOY the music the way it meant to be.

i always thought you had the LCD-2 rev.2 but if i were you I'd go for the rev.2 ( softer pads, more durable wood finish, leather headbands, lighter, more resolving in treble department but NEVER HARSH ). it sounds like a big investment to me.
