Spring VA, DC, MD Macro Meet @ 5/17/2008

Dave...thanks for the guilt trip. As I was packing my stuff to return home from Manila...I saw his email and I KNOW I dropped the ball on this one. No excuses offered only my deepest apology. I have not read all the thread here yet but if anyone is still interested in early June meet...I...

Spring VA, DC, MD Macro Meet @ 5/17/2008

I am glad I asked My "standard" plug is 4pin XLR on my Senn cans. I have to 3pin to 4pin adapter so...as long as you have a standard size XLR plug(s)...thing will work out. There will be two Markl modded D5000 at the meet. One with two 3pin XLR plugs and other stock 1/4" stereo plug. The...

Spring VA, DC, MD Macro Meet @ 5/17/2008

Guys...so far, only 13 of you have shown interest for the meet. I will be surprised if 70% show up. The parking is not an issue. I live on a circle so there is plenty of space around my immediate neighborhood for parking. vvs_75, just finish your Beta22 Costco is only 5 minutes away from my...

    AT W5000 or Denon D5000 or ???

Get the D5000. Do the Markl modding...and enjoy it. I owned W5000 in the past and I auditioned modded Markl modded D5000 and no comparison....MD5000 wins hands down. The reason I don't like either of them is they are closed cans. I just can't stand heat build up.

ATH-W5000 rattle..., is it still there?

There are at least two reasons for the rattle...the internal cable is least of it. The major issue (for me) was the way internal driver housing was mating with the baffle surface. When I had mine, I just placed very thin coat of blue-tak where the driver housing is screwed to the internal baffle...

Question about balancing a Denon D5000

Yes, I have heard the stock D5000 during meets. The Markl modded D5000 really transforms the sound to whole new level. Even if I was not into Head-Fi...one can clearly discern the difference between stock and Markl modded version of D5000. The bass heavy nature of stock D5000 is gone with the...

Question about balancing a Denon D5000

I have Bazile's Markl modded D5000 at hand now...matter of fact, enjoying it beyond words now Markl sent it directly to me after his modding process for audition and also possibly reterminate it with 4pin XLR but I advised Bazile not to perform this operation until he gets acquainted with single...

Question about balancing a Denon D5000

Chris... Your answer can be found here: http://www.head-fi.org/forums/3862805-post7.html It's not easy to balance D5000 cable. The stock cable is very high quality and it would be shame to destroy it.

    Getting a GS-X

Dreadhead's GSX look like this.... I sold him my GSX. I wasn't going to sell my GSX to anyone without a proper interview As much as I love GSX, I love the vinyl sound more so I am dedicating more into my 2-channel vinyl stereo system. Now...I have to call Vinnie to get the Signature...

The Channel Islands VDA-2...a Fine DAC

No... you need two VHP2/VAC1 and only one VDA2/VAC1. The VDA2 has two sets of RCAs on the back for 0 degree and 180 degree which you plug into two VHP2s to make it balanced. The hard part is to make the headphone cable balanced...depending on which headhphones you want to balance Quote...

    Channel Islands VHP-2

^^^ Thank you Like I said before, VHP2/VAC1 is high resolution amp so it should do very well with string classical, especially with HD580 or HD600. Having said all this...the REAL concern (always) should be "source first". VHP2 (with VAC1) is very transparent to source...as much as GS-1. The...
