Yurbuds Inspire First Impressions
I wanted to share my thoughts on the earphones I just picked up. I have been looking for a cheap pair of earphones to use while exercising. The earphones I was previously using were the ones that came with my zune a few years back. Doing some research I came across the Yurbuds active headphone...- Dpgriff

cheap iems for small ears
I know this question probably gets asked fairly often but I have a small budget. I am desperately hoping to find a pair of in ear phones that cancel noise and sound good but will fit my ears. I don't want to spend a lot of money since I won't know if they will fit until I get them. I am...- Dpgriff

question about using my xonar soundcard for gaming and music
I received the asus xonar dg soundcard for my pc. I will be using my headphones to play games and to listen to music. There is an option in the xonar audio center to select number of audio channels. Two is recommended for music while they recommend setting it to 8 channels for gaming. Do I have...- Dpgriff

SRH750DJ or Crossfade LP2 (Limited Edition)
I'm not an experienced headfier by any means but by looking at response graphs it looks like the Lp2's have more bass but the shure appear to be more balanced and flat as far as frequency response goes. I'm planning on getting the crossfade lp2's within the two weeks as my first $50+ headphone...- Dpgriff

Is There Anything Similar to The Beats Studio That Is Better And Cheaper.
Someone on here said the crossfade lp2's have about as much bass as you can pack into a headphone. They are semi-open though so the isolation might not be as good as a closed pair of headphones.- Dpgriff

What is the most comfortable headphones you've worn?
My cousin has a pair of the older grado sr80s and they are easily the most uncomfortable headphones i've ever worn. I was in pain the second the exposed plastic pressed against my ears. Might as well have just covered the drivers in sandpaper.- Dpgriff

Is There Anything Similar to The Beats Studio That Is Better And Cheaper.
If style is important you could look at the skullcandy aviators. I know people hate on skullcandy by tyll from innerfidelity said they are decent. He did a round of "celebrity" headphones. He includes more headphones than just beats, soul, etc. like the...- Dpgriff

Gaming Headset v. Hi-fi Headphones?
I'm not an experienced audiophile but I know that a lot of gaming headsets have surround sound which a lot of people don't like for music listening. The built-in mics are a great feature for many users. I have a stereo turtle beach headset that i can use for with pc or xbox and it is decent for...- Dpgriff

I haven't used that many headphones but I imagine that full size headphones would get very hot especially if they are closed.- Dpgriff

Poor audio on Asus 1015PX (netbook)
How much are you willing to pay? I'm new to headfi so I may not be the best person to talk to but if your trying to go cheap and portable you can get a usb sound card. Turtlebeach has one for $25 and its suppose to power the headphones much better without noise from the internal components of...- Dpgriff

How many pairs of headphones do you own?
I did a quick search and couldn't find any recent threads. I've been reading this forum regularly for the past weeks. I'll be getting my first pair of quality phones soon but I keep getting carried away in all of this audio stuff and want to buy everything. I already have a list of multiple...- Dpgriff

Getting "called-out" for not wearing the Beats
I've been on headfi for the past few weeks quite a bit. My roommate saw me research a bunch of different and says to me "you should just get beats". I wasn't sure what to say. I didn't feel like arguing. Most college kids are too stupid and ignorant to realize beats are popular because of...- Dpgriff

Challenge: Talk Me Out of Beats Studio
Yea they should be pretty good for the genres of music you plan on listening to. As a young person myself, I would much prefer to wear beats out in public than many of the uglier looking alternatives. If you don't like them, you won't have a problem selling them to get your money back. They sell...- Dpgriff

The Basshead Club
Do any of you guys have a sub(s) in your vehicles? I love bumbin the bass while i'm driving. Nothing obnoxious, just a single 10" in a sealed box. I replaced all my speakers and it actually sounds pretty good. It might not be audiophile material but its fun. I was looking for some bassy...- Dpgriff

Bassy headphones lower than 100$
I don't know if you've already ordered the sony's but you could also check out the kicker hp 541's. I have them and they're decent but I haven't heard the sony's for comparison. They can be found online for about $50 as well.- Dpgriff
