Speaker Advice
Hi Guys I am considering getting a pair of speakers for my set-up, I listen to a wide range of music and I love detail. I have an Audio Resolution Opus 21 as my source and an E.A.R Yoshino 859 as my amp, this Amp is not at all powerful so the speakers have to be matched very carefully with...- Jasonharkin

Point of diminishing returns???
Its kinda scary to think how much money us guy drop on audio gear. Presently my girlfriend is not speaking to me after hearing I dropped nearly 3k on a cd player for my bedroom. New CDP a Very Difficult Decision! Advice
Well I pulled the trigger today on a Resolution Audio Opus 21 without an audition payed over the phone, however the countless great reviews online give me hope for this little player for me. I have alot of faith in this little beauty. I have decided that I am going to now get an integrated amp...- Jasonharkin

New CDP a Very Difficult Decision! Advice
I am very interested in the Resolution Audio Opus 21, the dealer I am talking to has a used one for £2200 nearly $4,000. USA versions of the player sell for about $2500 second hand on audiogon, which when compared to the UK price it is a serious price hike for what is essentially the same...- Jasonharkin

Ray's amps - US/UK power?
Hi I purchased my Raptor used from Goredwings, it was UK voltage which was all good as I am based in the UK aswell, however I sold the Raptor on the forums a while later to a US head-fier, I had the Raptor shipped to Ray for upgrades and Voltage change first. The US head-fier paid for the...- Jasonharkin

New CDP a Very Difficult Decision! Advice
The choice of high-end CDP's is quite scary, I might have to pay a little visit to Shadow Audio in Bonny Scotland at the end of the month for a demo of a number of players.- Jasonharkin

North-London Mini-Meet 16th April '06
Great meet guys, I will try my best to get to the next one, and I might even bring some goodies -
dilemma: should I get the RS-1 even though I'm in debt
If it is debt to a family member, friend or on a credit card pay it off, however if it is a personal loan from a bank I would just order the RS-1's and get an extra couple of hundred for a nice amp- Jasonharkin

X-RAY V3 verus Cyrus 6X
Get one on Ebay in the UK and ask Cyrus to change the voltage to 110v, I would be willing to help a US head-fier out if need be.- Jasonharkin

The hum was faint and ever present in my power supply when music was playing aswell. I am sure Ray will sort your power supply out, he is a stand up guy and was very helpful when I contacted him.- Jasonharkin

The hum was present in my Raptor aswell, it was annoying at start but a hum is to be expected from the power supply. Great amp all the same.- Jasonharkin

New CDP a Very Difficult Decision! Advice
Thanks for the responses guys. I am looking for speed, detail, forwardness and impact mainly from my new system. I believe the GSX and the PS-1 should deliever this (based on others opinions). The Chord DAC64 intrigues me, I am thinking of pairing it with a Mark Levinson 31CD Transport at the...- Jasonharkin
