Quote: Thanks for the list! Out of those, the beyers are looking the nicest. I guess I can put in a bit of extra money for an amp :P

    Closed Headphones for ~$200?

Hey guys,   I'm looking for some closed headphones to use at work. I would use my MS-1is but they would annoy the hell out of my co-workers. Currently I am using my etymotic IEMs, but they are kinda uncomfortable after an hour or so.   I primarily listen to indie, post and alternative...

I love the way the ms1i sounds, so something similar to that would be awesome. I'm not knowledgeable enough on the subject to know precisely what I want eq wise

++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum

Hey guys, I'm looking for some nice closed cans under $200 for use at work. I would use my MS-1is, but they are too noisy for everyone else. I listen to a lot of indie and alternative rock, and prefer more detailed sound. I'll be plugging them in to a macbook, and I can't use an amp. I was...

    D1080MKII 08

With all Swans has learned about making extreme-value active speakers, it's time to again raise the bar on value. The Swan D1080MkII08 does just that with new styling, new electronics, and three times the power of the original. Like the Swan M200 series, the D1080MkII08 is a stereo 2.0 system...

Best IEMS under $200 for comfort and sound?

Hey guys,   I'm looking for some new IEMS under $200 for listening to music from my Nokia N9 on public transport (my klipsch headphones are on the verge of splitting open). I'm looking for something really comfortable (I have kind of odd ears - i find it hard to find tips big enough for my...

Re-shell Klipsch Custom 2 or get new phones?

I don't particularly love the sound of the custom 2s so I might try out some other IEMs

Re-shell Klipsch Custom 2 or get new phones?

Hey Guys,   My pair of Klipsch Custom 2s is starting to fall apart (it's had a pretty good run compared to most other stories I have heard) and I am not sure if I should get a custom re-shell or a whole new pair. I usually use them with my 5th gen iPod on the bus (although i'll probably use...

Looking for new headphones under $150

HELL YEAH! Got them delivered today! First impressions (hooked up to my iphone): they sound a little like my klipsch custom 2s, but with punchier bass, and they look old school awesome. Gonna try with my macbook tomorrow (my IEMs sound heaps better when connected to my macbook). Now I have to go...

    Make your own custom IEM's

Quote: Yeah, I did almost exactly like the video. I wouldn't stick it around your IEMs first because it wont fit as well in your ear, defeating the purpose of the whole thing. Surprisingly, no blue goopy stiff got into the IEM tube/canal thing.

    Make your own custom IEM's

I did this not too long ago, and they certainly are comfy, but the material that is used doesn't have anywhere near as good isolation as the rubber fittings do, in turn, making them sound horrible

Looking for new headphones under $150

I do have a jaycar on the way home from school, but it's not particularly well stocked with electronics components. I usually buy kit electronics, though - either online or at a place like jaycar (used to get it from dick smith, but they've dropped all their components and stuff).

Looking for new headphones under $150

That's be quite easy, it's just I can't acquire the parts (i'm 17 and too lazy to get my license). I have made some before though (although not high quality like that)

Looking for new headphones under $150

Quote: I really enjoy DIY electronics, and I've heard that the mini^3 is one of the better IEM amps also (I can use them with my klipsch IEMS). I would build a cmoy, but I want to be able to use my IEMs with it and I've heard it's not particularly good at them

Looking for new headphones under $150

forgot to say, that i might diyMod my old iPod Video. That's for when I build up some more funds though - the hard drive is on it's last legs (flac music in rockbox stutters, the hdd is so bad), and the battery has seen much better days.

Looking for new headphones under $150

Quote: In hindsight I should've gotten them from headphonics, but I wanted the extra savings. The source i'll be using is either my macbook pro or iphone. I'mm thinking about getting a Mini3 amp kit from glass jar audio, also. I haven't been able to find the parts cheaper on any aussie...
