Hey guys,

I'm looking for some new IEMS under $200 for listening to music from my Nokia N9 on public transport (my klipsch headphones are on the verge of splitting open). I'm looking for something really comfortable (I have kind of odd ears - i find it hard to find tips big enough for my ears, and foam ones don't have very good isolation from my experience), with decent sound for rock(ish) music. For the type of music I listen to my last.fm page can help you. I have seen that etymotic have custom tips, but I'm not sure if it'd be under $200. I have also seen the Kozee Infinity X1, but I have heard bad things about their customer support. Does anyone have any suggestions?

$60 Option
Brainwavz M2 with Large T-400 foam tips

$150 Options
Ultimate Ears UE700 with Comply tips
Recable the connector as many have reported problems with the wire splitting there
The sound is awesome as there are two drivers on these, one for bass and one for mids to treble

Etymotic HF5
-30dB + of isolation
Neutral sound with a slight lack of bass
Some complain of fit issues, but you can try many different tips

Westone 2! Nice and small, super comfortable w/ good isolation. Great company and I think the best single earphone under $200 (Earphonesolutions w/ coupon code CHILL11). You might also want to check out the GR07.

From memory, the EX600's were great for rock music. Some bands I frequently listened to while I had them were The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, Pinback, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, and Rush. IMO the treble and bass texturing works perfectly with rock. One of the best IEM I've had for rock music actually. It came in second to the EX1000 tho

. They were also incredibly comfortable to me, and I actually have pretty small ears.

You can also take a look into the GR07. I can't give you any impressions on that IEM as I haven't heard it, but I'm sure you'll be able to draw your own opinions of its sound from what other people have been said about it.

Don't think the TF10s and "comfortable" go in the same sentence for a lot of people - best to try them out first.

My 2 cents: DBA-02, EX600, GR07, ER4S (though any Ety in general), and UE700, of the ones I've personally owned, under $200.
