IEMs reshelled into Custom Molds $80 in the USA (TripleFi 10, SE530, etc.) from FISHER HEARING
I got my tf10's from the amazon deal today and figured that I'd compare them to my remolded tf10's. I was actually extremely surprised, the two sound nothing alike. Keep in mind though that the pair of tf10's that I had remolded were pretty old and that I also changed the cable out for a...- mythe

IEMs reshelled into Custom Molds $80 in the USA (TripleFi 10, SE530, etc.) from FISHER HEARING
Here are some pics of my remolds: I'm overall very happy with the way they came out. They're extremely comfortable, I can wear them for hours and when I take them out my ears feel like there was never anything in them at all. The pictures aren't that great because I'm not so good with...- mythe

IEMs reshelled into Custom Molds $80 in the USA (TripleFi 10, SE530, etc.) from FISHER HEARING
I'm sure you can find an audiologist in NYC or something. I got my impressions from a Sear's hearing aid center, also in NJ for only $20. My refit and repaired tf-10's are back after about a 2 week repair. The left earpiece was apparently totally redone so the crack is gone. The fit is...- mythe

Etymotic 6i?
100$ is a lot for the er6i, you can usually find them for much cheaper I think. They are very good but I would recommend the mc5's over them because they are a newer model and should have better cables and a better build. They should also have a bit more bass. Comparing my HF5's to my...- mythe

M11+ vs M6
I thought the m9 and the m6 sounded pretty much the same. I personally found them to be very similar when I compared my m6's to my friends m9's. The only thing about the m6's is that it was harder for me to get a seal since the meelec silicone tips don't work so great for me and the non...- mythe

Monster Turbines Pro Gold Vs Beats By Dre Studio
In general, there are plenty of other headphones that perform better at lower prices. Even the turbines don't have such a great price to quality ratio. There are a bunch of threads on this that a quick search would turn up, some commonly recommended bassy earphones are the klispch s4i...- mythe

Monster Turbines Pro Gold Vs Beats By Dre Studio
Turbines are leaps and bounds better. Beats by dre are for looks not music. They make you look cool (maybe) and just happen to make sound too.- mythe

Present for Mom. need help
I would skip the amp, your mom would probably just think it's a hassle and it won't improve the sound that much with these easy to drive headphones. Etymotic Research MC5 and RE0 are both very good choices. If your mom can learn to use the triple flanges that come with ER's headphones...- mythe

wat iemz are gud? $170 or less
Difference between the tf10 and re0 are that the tf10 is generally considered to be in a higher tier, are much bassier, and the sound is more full bodied and very warm in my opinion. The re0's should sound very much like hf5's. I wouldn't exactly consider the tf10's "crisp" but I like them a...- mythe

Cowon J3 Impressions Thread
I've been charging almost all of my gadgets every day when they're still 75%+ full and I've never had a problem, nor have I seen battery life decreasing. Li-ion and Li-poly batteries definitely don't need cycling or discharging. That's for stuff like ni-mh or ni-cd. I've only had my J3...- mythe

Meelectronics m6 question
lmao, everyone is entitled to their opinions. I too personally think that the clear ones look sort of cheap. And the sound isn't bad at all, especially for the price. It was tricky for me to get a good seal but they sound very decent once you do, I'd rate them above marshmellows.- mythe

earphones for working out that are sweat proof?
They've been having a bunch of sales lately, in fact I think they were even cheaper yesterday on meelec's main site with their daily sales. I would also recommend the m6, they're awesome headphones for $20. The only thing I don't like is how they changed the nozzle design to a straight tube, I...- mythe

Maybe you could try putting some tape on the metal parts on the metal parts that touch your skin, or even coating it with a thin layer of clear nail polish.- mythe

Tips not fitting?
Try pulling the top/back part of your ear outwards while inserting the eartips. Especially with the biflanges, this may allow you to insert them deeper and get a seal.- mythe

Klipsch S4i, does mic work on computer?
Most likely not. If you look at the 3.5mm plug of the image s4i you'll notice that it has more bands than normal headphones that don't have a mic or remote. The extra band is for the microphone signal. Most computer headphone jacks aren't built to utilize the extra prong for mic, instead they...- mythe

Skullcandy TiTan vs. V-Moda Vibe vs. J-Buds J3
I'd definitely look into some meelec headphones, you can get some of their higher end headphones for within your price range with the sales they're having now. I'd take a meelec m6 over skullcandy's flagship headphones any day.- mythe

IEM choice with ISOLATION
There are generally two types of nozzles, fat ones and skinny ones. Etymotic, certain Shures, and a lot of Klispchs use the skinny nozzles. Some other may too, but they're less common, maybe Westone? So basically you can exchange tips between Etymotic, Shure, and Klispch earphones in...- mythe

IEM choice with ISOLATION
In terms of isolation single flange and biflange < foam < triple flanges < custom molds in my personal experience. You can always buy different eartips if you feel like you don't get enough isolation. I would also definitely recommend the etymotics, either the hf5's or the mc5's. The er4's...- mythe

under $40
I've had great experiences with all of meelec's line, and they're having some pretty good promotions right now. Their phones that are usually 40-60 are marked down to 20 and under with one deal a day. Their headphones are all pretty bass heavy but in a good and fun way, in my opinion.- mythe

Question: Is Monster earphones made in CHINA?
Quote: Apparently not, it's quite common for them to simply take plans and produce the exact same items in china without the original manufacturer ever knowing. They just don't do any research or development, every time the original comes out with something new the clone companies...- mythe
