How do you afford list
Architecture student with several grants and scholarship for supplies (wood is expensive) and I try to recycle materials as much as I can. Whenever there's leftover after a semester, usually about one to three hundred, they go to cans. Mind you, one project can easily cost several hundred to make.- Waterfalls

Looking for comfortable and durable earphones for about 30-40 bucks.
I recommend the MEElec's M9, which have a metal housing and pretty durable wires. It comes with a wide variety of tips, which add to the comfort value. Though I am curious about how the M6 compares to the M9, been tempted to order a pair to see which is more comfortable.- Waterfalls

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
I'm currently using them on the E7/E9 combo and I feel it's adequate on higher gain, I haven't tried out any other amps to compare it to but I'm sure there are better options. It's still quite dark in presentation, in a slightly warm way, I can't quite explain it. Using stock cables as well...- Waterfalls

Headphone Sightings 2
I have a friend in the upper years who has a pair of Sony MDR-V500 DJs, pretty beat down since they were handed down from his father. Sadly, he also has a pair of Beats but at least he knows how overpriced they are for their sound and bought them at a third of their price. Other than that, not...- Waterfalls

Show us your Head-Fi station at it's current state. No old pictures please...
Yep, I don't have the heart to let go of my N64, even if it is 15 years old. Close, but no dime. HD650 and SR60i are correct but the rest are Sony MDR-XD100 used as a lamp decoration and the bottom two are HD555 and HD280. I still use the 555's occasionally and the 280's are for on the go.- Waterfalls

Headphones you regretted buying the most
My SR60i's have been collecting dust when I started to appreciate my HD555's more, thus deciding my upgrade to the HD650. Then, when I decided to listen to Modest Mouse's Lonesome Crowded West, I noticed how dark and distant it felt and I wasn't quite in the mood for that. Went to grab the...- Waterfalls

Best Closed Headphone for my budget.!
Quote: I own a pair, the clarity and isolation is great but the bass is pretty much non-existent without an amp and even then, it isn't that noticeable and not as precise as Senn's open air models. It gains some life with burn-in but they're really, really uncomfortable at first...- Waterfalls

Will Headphones go 'mainstream'? Is that what the Beats are?
I've yet to see that and I live in New York as well, though Queens to be exact. I assume it's a Brooklyn thing?- Waterfalls

New Headphone Stand
Couldn't find the hose hook, seems like there are quite a few head fi-ers in New York buying them all, hah. I got these recently on impulse as silly decorations for my room but they double as a stand after some thought. Though I don't use them that way often since I'm on break from...- Waterfalls

Please help me find more music!
In reference to the math-rock post above, I'm pretty fond of Tera Melos, Minus the Bear and Volta Do Mar. I haven't really been listening to much rock as of late with the exception of Sonic Youth but here are some I've listened to in the past quite a bit. Dinosaur Jr. - Grunge with very...- Waterfalls

To you guys who have huge libraries
After being introduced to the idea of prog years back, I've grown a habit of listening from the start of an album to the end. Generally I listen to a bit of stuff I've grown fond of in combination with newly acquired albums and once a few of those new albums grow onto me, I shift to other...- Waterfalls
