Ipod USB Cables
@ Big Poppa, how did this cable work for you. Were you connecting this to a usb dac and which one was it? i guess this beats using the camera dock with the ipad. I also noticed that the camera connection dock was not able to work with all dacs due to power issues but was resolved at times with a...- cpk

Victor HP-FX500 Review: World's first Wood Canalphones
I tried the Koss tips and was very happy with them. I like them better than the Sony Hybrid. The Sony tip is very small at the end. Where the Koss is larger opening and set back more. It improved the upper end and tamed it down. A little loss on lower bass, however an overall improvement. I had...- cpk

Victor HP-FX500 Review: World's first Wood Canalphones
I just received my Koss earcushions. I ordered the KE29S, however I think they might have sent the wrong ones. The pack does not state the model number on it. The only thing I see on the package by the sku is product no EXK. It looks like these are for the KEB Models from the info on the back...- cpk

Upgrading my Home Theater
The best thing to do is purchase the XCS. You can find one pretty cheap on the b stock sales or buy a used one. Then move the XLS to the front LR.This way you will have a balanced front end. This will be a big improvement. Then you can move your current LR to the bedroom to use with the BPA-1...- cpk

Is my $ distribution for a speaker setup out of whack?
You should put most of the money toward used speakers. The NAD make a great bang for the buck equipment. You could also get by with a dvd player that also plays cd-r. I am using a Denon 1920 for a source and it is pretty good. It also plays sacd. I am sure you can find something inexpensive at a...- cpk

Victor HP-FX500 Review: World's first Wood Canalphones
Hello everyone, great info as always. Since there is such differences in what we hear, could you list the chain of equipment used in your portable rig? I think that this will help a lot in determining why we are hearing such differences in the last couple of pages of posts. I am using the...- cpk

Victor HP-FX500 Review: World's first Wood Canalphones
Thanks for all the info. After rereading this thread, it seems that the bass is not boomy. I think these should work well for classic jazz with the standup bass. I really like the fact that they do well with female vocals. I also understand that there is no perfect phone. Sometimes you have to...- cpk

No problem. It seems that less people are using a portable amp than they were a few years ago. It has been a couple of years that I have been away from this great website. My rig consists of Lossless>4th gen Imod> ALO Cyro> Original Hornet> Clou Red> HD 600. I was interested in the pfe. However...- cpk

cn111, I see that you have the Mustang Amp. I am probably going to be ordering the 500's very soon. I have an original Hornet to use with them. Have you tried your 500's with any other amps? I am wondering how this combination sounds. I listen mainly to classic jazz, classical and some 70's...- cpk
