The shine of the wooden cups is very odd. My set don't have that shiny finish.

For what it's worth, i love the sound of my new ESW9s but my JH16s stomp all over them. this is of course, in my humble opinion.   Although i do feel that the ESW9s are overall better than UM3X and TF10, which i also own.   YMMV

Just received ESW9's from a fellow head-fi'er a couple of days ago.  I just want to say that i am enjoying these headphones thoroughly. The mids are really sweet just like everyone says. i must say that i was floored by that sweetness.

I was wondering if anyone has gotten a chance to try ALO audio's aftermarket cables? they have two of them for sale if i recall correctly. I'd really like to know if they would offer the same sort of improvement as the TWag cable.   Hope someone has some impressions to share!
