I think the lack of outer ear stimuli really kills music for me, given the range ofIEMs I've used it's the only explanation I can come up with. It just never sounds right... though closest I ever got was the UM1, even the UM2 sounded more off than the UM1. It's still not what I've come to expect from full sized cans, though.
