FWIW, I use Squeezebox 2-->coax-->Zhaolu 2.0 ad1852/modded without any problems...in fact, Squeezebox sounds considerably better as a transport than my Panasonic DVDS47.

I've done the 3X DY2000 and it sounds better to me than 2X2604 + DY2000 in the center. Tighter bass, better dyamics, cleaner overall.

Jumpers aside (and again I agree with lan that the choice of jumper setting on the 1.3 significantly affects the sound), I think Ferbose's review highlights the possibility that the later revisions of the DAC1 really do sound different than earlier revisions, as has been suggested by others...

I agree with lan and find the 48/96khz setting to be much better IMHO (see my original post/pictures here http://www5.head-fi.org/forums/showt...96#post2012717)

Hilarious! Eddie does seem a very reasonable guy, but I do wonder about his hearing acuity sometimes It seems that the bottom line is: get rid of these caps any way you can. I just soldered the legs of the Eddie-installed caps together, hopefully shorting and bypassing the top caps as well...
