Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)
I have owned both - kept the Bravado. Very similar sound signature to the LX (to my ears) at a fraction of the price. The LX does give you more of everything though, in a good way - what stood out for me, between the two, is that the LX provides a wider soundstage and more texture. I'm more...- Vingard

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)
My personal preference would be the Phantom over the Encore. I found the Encore a little too bright for my taste. Bass is also more present in the Phantom. Overall, I would say the Phantom present a more coherent sound.- Vingard

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)
I agree with all of D's comments above. I've owned all three and the LX is the only one I've kept. The LX definitely delivers oodles of bass, but I find it to be far more articulate and textured than, for example, the CA Vega. It performs stunningly with electronic music (to which I dedicate...- Vingard

Thanks for sharing. This is exactly the kind of analysis/comparison I was looking for :) trying to decide on an upgrade cable for my LX. All three cables seem like they are worth a listen, so I'm not sure that I'm any closer to making a decision!- Vingard

Maverick Audio DAC/Amp
This DAC/amp appears to be similar (if not identical) to Grant Fidelity's Tube DAC 09 (Grant Fidelity Tube DAC-09 Digital-to-analog Converter - MSRP US$390.00 | Grant Fidelity Home Audio). However, some investigation by the folks at Grant Fidelity has revealed some interesting information...- Vingard

Shure 840 vs Senn Hd 600
I've compared both and prefer the HD600 by a wide margin. The neutrality of the HD600 definitely won me over. I also found the SRH840 to be somewhat uncomfortable after 45 minutes of continuous use - moisture, heat, and pressure from the headband. There's no question the the SRH840 is a great HP...- Vingard

SRH840 impression
Tried out the SRH840 for about 2 weeks, but found that they're not particularly comfortable for extended use. They're more like supra-aural rather than circumaural (for my ears at least!). As such, the heat and moisture generated by compression against my ears meant that I couldn't leave them on...- Vingard

REVIEW: Head-direct.com HiFiMan EF2 tube Hybrid Amp with USB DAC
I've tried it with the SRH840, DT770/250 (pro and consumer versions) and HD650, but the HD600+EF2 combo is pure auditory bliss! Quote: Originally Posted by HeadphoneAddict Yeah, that's what I thought too.- Vingard
