Why not just go to pretty much any electronics store and ask for some thermal glue? Any place that sells heatsinks has it. It is much cheaper than the arctic silver crap, and in all seriousness if you need arctic silver to keep any of your projects running you should NOT be in engineering.

New catridge. Wrap the tonearm in electrical tape. Remove the phono stage and build a new one. Upgrade the powersupply. Then there's more serious ones like replacing the tonearm / motor / platter / rebuilding the plynth.

Um HDCD is 44.1/20 (?48?), and not 192/24. I doubt you'd see a noticable change with a different chip. Now DVD-A is an entirely different matter.

Oh my god why doesn't this product just die. It gets mentioned here at least once per semester. There are whole websites dedicated to how crap that product is and how questionable the company's policies are.
