Hey guys, I've got the Klipsch Promedia 5.1 Ultras that use the typical front, rear, sub stereo connectors. My laptop doesn't have output like this, so I'm wondering what solutions are available. I know Sound Blaster makes the X-Fi Pro 5.1, but I'd like to explore all my options before I purchase.

Has anyone made a comparison of these to the old Philips HP1000, their previous high-end? I have a pair and love it's smooth, open sound.

HFI-780 will play rock quite well. They are great for high energy music and have a good amount of bass. The ATH-M50 is also a good introductory phone that you could find for less, but the HFI-780 should out perform them in almost all aspects.

Ultrasone HFI-780 should be well within your range and fit the electro/techno genre well.

Comfort and construction are the same. Some people say the Pro 900's pads are bigger and comfier - I don't know if those were earlier models but when I had both I compared the two and noticed no difference.   Quote:
