    Pico slim or TTVJ slim

The TTVJ SLim has plenty of power-- I even use it with AKG 701 and anything more than half way on the volume attenuator would blow my head off! Todd has a thirty day return policy so it is a no risk deal to try them out.

Review by 'random person' on item 'TTVJ Portable (Slim)'

I was fortunate enough to get on Todd's review list for the TTVJ Portable (Slim), tried it for two weeks with my UE11Pro and AKG 701, and promptly ordered my own unit!!!!!   Cutting to the chase:  oh baby, I LOVE this amp!!!   First let me say that when it comes to serious...

Review of TTVJ Portable (Slim) with UE 11Pro

I don't know much about the innards of this little amp but certainly its tube- ish sound is something of a marvel! And for the curious I did ask Todd if the unit I actually purchased was burned in and no it was not. He said burn in does make a difference but it is subtle. I'll say! Of course...

Review of TTVJ Portable (Slim) with UE 11Pro

I don't mind the brightness of the light but i can see how that might be a problem for nighttime listening. You are so right a out the gain switch! As I said in the review, the good news about the gain switch is that you couldn't possibly switch settings by accident. The bad news is that is...

Review of TTVJ Portable (Slim) with UE 11Pro

Well I'm sure the review unit was burned in, the question is was the one I purchased burned in as well. I may email Todd to ask him that! As for tubes i don't believe this amp has any, so no damage worries there.

Review of TTVJ Portable (Slim) with UE 11Pro

That would explain the scratches -- but then again, I could be tin eared!     Thanks for your kind reply!

What is the best portable amp for UE 11 Pro!!!

I'm about to write a full review of Todd the Vinyl Junky's Portable (slim).  I use it with UE 11Pros and the pair is amazing!!!!!! It tames the UEs so that the sound is full but neutral, not boomy.  Mids are delicious and there is serious thump as well.   I can't imagine a better pairing...

On a budget: is it better to look for combi dac/amp?

I vote for the Total Bithead: amp and dac combined, and a fantastic value to boot. I use mine with UE11Pros. Are there better/more expensive options? Probably/absolutely. Am I happy with the Total Bithead? Yesssss!

TTVJ Portable Amp w/DAC Loaner Program

Hi Todd! I just sent you an email to see if you can add me to the program! I'd be testing them with UE11Pros and AKG K701s.

TTVJ Portable (Slim) / ALO Rx?

Is there an on/off "thump" with the ttvj slim? Also, does the volume adjust down to Low once you remove the 'phones -- so that you can't inadvertently have the volume too high when you replug the phones in? I'm interested in preventing blowing my eardrums out (I use UE11Pros). Also I assume the...

Any interest in a mass produced low profile LOD?

CablePro makes the Earcandy Lite version with a much more flexible wire -- $120 or so but worth it.

    Which headphones/IEMs have turned heads

I've had people stop me and order me to tell them what I have in my ears! Electric blue UE11Pros with a custom lightning bolt design -- and they match my blue Nano perfectly! Sadly, while they have been noticed, it doesn't happen NEARLY often enough!

    First UE11 Impressions

Wow I must have been just plain lucky but both my UE115c and UE11Pros fit perfectly with zero refits. I have been told I have "perfect ear canals." Who knew?

Sensaphonics 2XS vs. Ultimate Ears UE10 (a comparison)

chowk -- I use the UE11Pro straight out of an iPod classic with no hiss. There was an ever so slight hiss out of my 5.5G iPod, but not with the new one (or the 3G Nano). Lindrone -- so good to hear that you are alive!!!! People were worried about you -- wha happened??? What have you been up...

    First UE11 Impressions

I think they recommend open mouth impressions so that you won't lose the seal, even if your mouth is in an extreme open mouth position. Remember, these were designed for performing artists, and of course singers open their mouths while these things are in their ears! The net impact is that if...

    Ultimate Ears UE-5C

You'll love the UE5c -- fantastic bass! Don't worry about an amp -- they are tuned specifically to make up for iPod deficiencies so while an amp might improve things it is not necessary. I've used mine with the iPhone, iPod 5.5g, the new iPod classic and new nano, and all previous models of...

Holy Crap. ilounge still prefers the E500 to the UE11s

I think the ilounge people (and perhaps others as well) have grown so accustomed to the anemic bass provided by most IEMs that the UE11Pro just seems too bassy by comparison. But the fact is that to my ears the UE11Pros come really close to rivalling floor speakers. And they are infinitely...

    First UE11 Impressions

From what they told me, they do the artwork last. The first thing they need are the molds, and the color -- from that they do the build. Art is done dead last. Mine are fabulous looking!!! And oh baby I just got the new Ipod Classic and Nano today -- they sound EVEN BETTER -- the audio is...

who says the er4-p/s don't have bass?!!

I can appreciate that people have different tastes, both in music and headphones, but it is simply not true that the ER4P/S delivers decent bass response. Indeed, that's why the highs are so prevalent -- there's not much to else to distract you from them. You may well prefer the Ety sound...

    First UE11 Impressions

Just thought I'd put in my two cents about the UE11Pro and the "warmth/too bassy" issue. I think it depends on your frame of reference. For me, my frame of reference is high end audio equipment. I use Krell components and big honkin B&W speakers. When compared to this kind of equipment...

Modding other cables (UE) to work with Shure's iPhone cord

I believe they plan to issue a separate product for the iPhone, not an accessory. In other words they will make a new headphone with iPhone plug and inline mike, but not an accessory cord that will work with existing UE products, custom or otherwise. At least that's what they told me! I...
