I have the D2000 use a NuForce Icon Mobile with it and they really liven up with the amp and it's a wimp as far as most amps go! Just be careful because I hear the D5000 has a very different sound signature so try them out first

IIRC, the D2000 and the D5000 share the exact same driver just matched at a higher tolerance and the D5K has wood cups. I plan to woody mine, but I no longer have my lathe (bearings broke and it all went to hell) so, I'm doing some precise measuring and CAD drawings to send out to someone...

It's just wire so you will have to braid it and such if you want to make interconnects. Basically, if it is just speaker wire as advertised, you'll have to cut strands of equal length, then braid and terminate.

Oh, read it wrong, i thought the actual wire was cut. If it is just the insulation that was cut, you're ok for the connection and you could possibly heatshrink it but you would have to unsolder the wires from the driver in order to get the cable in the tubing.... otherwise, I cannot think of any...

Yes they are compatible Well. mine came in today! Lovely fit and no problems with the build fortunately. The only problem is now they are emitting this crazy pink noise stuff for the next ~50 hours which I just cannot bear! Full review coming soon-ish
