JVC HA-FW01 - The New Top End Wood Driver IEM (2017)
It's been a long time since I've gotten a new pair of headphones (like 3 years) and had the time to sit down for some quiet listening due to two young babies at home. My go to pair of headphones these years have been the SE846 and they've served me well as a fantastic all rounder- comfortable...- kwang411

Shure SE846 Impressions Thread
I posted this over at the Headphone Lounge thread, but I thought I would post it here too. I got my Silver Litz cable for SE846 last week, I have to say I love it. I will briefly compare the Litz to the 3 other cables I have: stock, Plussound Exo, Effect Audio Apollo. Here are some photos...- kwang411

The NEW Headphone Lounge Thread
I ordered the Silver Litz from Ted for my SE846s, can't wait to get them! I'm curious if anyone has tried his cables with HD800? I find the headphones a bit bright and a tad thin, so I'm considering Ted's Copper Litz. I have tried a Cardas cable quite a few years ago and I don't remember...- kwang411

Shure SE846 Impressions Thread
Hi all, I just received my SE846 and it sounds fantastic. The bass is punchy but does not spill into the mids at all, it is actually what had me sold on getting them. I had a pair of SE535s before, and I sold it due to lack of bass and to me I felt the treble sounded quite artificial. SE846 is...- kwang411

[New] Philips Fidelio X1
Very interesting, after about 24hrs of burn in, the bass quantity has decreased substantially. It went from almost unbearably much to pretty much no EQ required. I would still say it's a bassy headphone, but now its much more enjoyable. I like to share some photos that I took of these...- kwang411

[New] Philips Fidelio X1
I just got mine today. Build quality is amazing, feels great in my hands. It is a bit small for my head though, so there's a little pressure on the top of my head, hopefully it will go away with some head time. Coming from HD800s, these are definitely bass heavy, a bit too much for...- kwang411

Sony NWZ-F806 mini review (& F-series player reviews / impressions / discussion)
I just updated my japanese version F805. I went directly to Settings > About device > System update to update it. It worked like a charm. The new version has way better EQ as there is more increments for each band, and you can even go negative for Clear Bass! Awesome!- kwang411

[New] Philips Fidelio X1
I'm really interested in the X1 after reading some reviews. Currently I have HD800 and sometimes I find it too analytical so I'm looking for something thats more mellow and warm. From what I've heard, I quite like the B&W P5 signature (except its soundstage), so I'm wondering if the X1's...- kwang411

Sony NWZ-F806 mini review (& F-series player reviews / impressions / discussion)
Quote: From what I've read on other sites, the white one is indeed metal also (except the top strip). The difference you are feeling is due to the glossy paint covering the metal; other versions are anodized I believe. The paint is what's making it feel less cool to the touch and less metal...- kwang411

Sony NWZ-F806 mini review (& F-series player reviews / impressions / discussion)
Quote: I hear very little hiss with EX800st, but so little its negligible anyway. Haven't tried with any BA IEMs yet, stopped liking them for awhile =P My battery life isn't half bad; I play 320kbps/FLAC files with the built in noise cancelling on for like 5-6 hours a day, and...- kwang411

Sony NWZ-F806 mini review (& F-series player reviews / impressions / discussion)
Quote: I have both, and usually use them with Sony 7550 IEMs. I think the biggest improvement the F series has over X is the almost non existent background hiss and the ability to play FLAC files. And obviously it has Android system, so if multimedia is important to you then the F...- kwang411

Sony NWZ-F806 mini review (& F-series player reviews / impressions / discussion)
Quote: What I meant by dynamics is that the F805 has less bass than the X and just in general sounds more flat. I do agree, however, that the micro dynamics (volume and decay of individual instruments) is much better with F805. Thanks Turokrocks and cn11! I actually owned 2 Z1060s...- kwang411

Sony NWZ-F806 mini review (& F-series player reviews / impressions / discussion)
Recently got my F805. Before I had doubts that the blue might look a bit feminine, but once I got it in my hands, I really do think its a beauty. Sound quality wise I wouldn't say its much better than X1060, but rather different approach. X1060 is more organic and lush, great for long...- kwang411

Sony MDR-EX600: Impressions Thread
Quote: EX600 is great for classic because of the big soundstage. Male vocals generally good, but female vocals depends. Some could sound too sibilant/harsh/thin. Btw what do you guys think of the noise isolation tips that came with EX600? To my ears they take away some bass quantity...- kwang411

Quick Impression: Sony MDR-7550
Awesome, I have no regrets getting the 7550. Really thinking about selling the SE535 though. The vocal/bass ain't as good as my ES3X, details/soundstage/treble not as good as 7550. They all of a sudden seem so mediocre lol- kwang411

Quick Impression: Sony MDR-7550
I bought a EX600 a month ago and was pleasantly surprised by its sound, but the sharp treble has always sorta kept me on my toes at times. Upon finish reading this thread and discovered that the 7550s might be a more suitable pair of phones for me, so I ordered one. Two days ago I received...- kwang411

NEW Sony Walkman Z Series mini review!!!
Quote: Thanks, i think the problem was with the ID3v1 tags, once i removed them using mp3tag it solved everything. Funny cuz I never ran into any of these problems using my iphone and ipad. Though I came across a new problem just now, I plugged my SE535 into it I'm hearing this faint...- kwang411

NEW Sony Walkman Z Series mini review!!!
I got a Z1050 today, but the biggest problem I'm facing is that it's not displaying Chinese/Japanese characters properly, they end up being random characters. This wasn't even a problem with my Ancient A728 and X1060... Does anyone know how to get it to properly display Chinese/Japanese...- kwang411

Quick Impression: Sony MDR-7550
I just got myself a pair of 7550s, should be arriving in a week or so. I was so impressed by the EX600s (for $150) that I decided to get the 7550 because of the smoother treble and more forward mids. Also, according to music_4321, he thinks the 7550 compares very well to his ES3X (which I...- kwang411

Sony MDR-EX600: Impressions Thread
Quote: hard to say, I think the amount of treble from EX600 is just fine, I don't think i'd want anymore forward treble or bass. I'm actually a mids person, but somehow I love the EX600 so much haha- kwang411
