My brother is in Tisch at NYU, and from what I can gather, film is still the way to go for "professional" type projects and short films...in fact, he shot on film this summer. I wish I had more insight into this, but most of big bro's film-speak goes in one ear and out the other.

I echo djgustashaw's comments. I prefer the sound signature of the mx500/400/300 to that of the PX200, however the PX200 tends to sound "bigger". The the mx series has the edge in comfort and convenience also.

Empyrean Isles is generally one of the records I recommend to people who want to get started in jazz. Everyone has heard Cantaloupe Island, but that doesn't detract from the genius of it's groove. It's much easier to digest that something like A Love Supreme.

It's not so much "break-in" that will improve bass, but you're brain becoming accustomed to the ety sound. In my experience, as you log hours with them, you will begin to percieve increasing levels of bass up to the point where the sound fills out quite nicely. I wouldn't give up on these phones...
