Best Beatle's Albums...?

You will also like The White Album and Abbey Road, I'm thinking. I'd also suggest Revolver, which has a lot of interesting stuff which is a bit edgier than Sgt. Pepper's.

I must admit, Rubber Soul has always been my favorite. It's a LOT different than the other stuff you're looking at, however.

And whatever Beatles album that you end up getting, keep in mind that new vinyl copies are mastered from the same digital tape used on the CD versions. So, I'd suggest getting a decent turntable, and search for an earlier (used) UK or German pressing of a particular Beatles album. (In the case of Magical Mystery Tour, only the German pressings and the newer digitally-remastered pressings have true stereo mixes of "Penny Lane", "Baby You're A Rich Man" and "All You Need Is Love"; all other full analogue pressings used rechanneled "fake stereo" versions of those three songs.)

If you have only a CD player, the above point is moot; in fact, the current CD editions of the Beatles albums date back to 1986 and 1987, when digital technology was still suffering from growing pains.

Well you now have at least a half dozen albums reccomended to you. And all of the picks are valid. The fact is the Beatles were one of those very rare groups where you won't go wrong (musically) by picking up any of their original albums-they are all excellent. Which is best is a matter of individual preference.

Oh, no one mentioned Sgt. Peppers, which was probably their most popular album and song-wise, seems to fit your tastes perfectly.

This thread again? I'll say "Rubber Soul" again! Though I'd agree that the white album is probably most like the stuff from "Magical Mystery Tour".
