IMR Audio : Sonic Adventures & Impressions

I needed to apply the following eq curve to make it usable yet its still harsh to me. The titan is not 100% perfect but by far the closest yet by a large margin. Maybe I had a defective model but the avalon wasnt huge ammounts better.

IMR Audio : Sonic Adventures & Impressions

I have just received my titans and yep I can see what people are talking about. By far the best and most complete/cohesive sound signature for sure. At first I thought they lacked anything special but comparing to my PB1's, (my previous favourite signature) showed the huge leap ahead. When I say...

IMR Audio : Sonic Adventures & Impressions

Thanks, I was suprised by excelent fit on the dioko and although the bass is very good there is just not enough of it. Its perfectly adequite for normal people but its not IMR levels. Maybe it is a large planar thing, I found it very resolving. My favourite IMR so far is still the PB1...

Well thats very interesting indeed. Gives me a bit more faith in the the Titan if Bob says thats end game. Care to elaborate?

IMR Audio : Sonic Adventures & Impressions

Yes very tempting indeed but sure is a lot of money and I did not care much for the Avalon & Ozar. I just recieved the 7hz dioko and boy are these great for the money, Honestly apart from a little peak at 9khz they seem to have all the IMR's I have had beat in the trebble and mid department...

I can confirm they are quite different in terms of the bass dynamics (new driver is a big change) and also frequency spectrum being a fair bit hotter in treble and upper mids. I would be curious to hear your impressions when they arrive.

I dont think bob could ever make a neutral/flat or ballanced headphone. Every IMR product I have had has emphasised the bass and its why I have bought so many of them. I just dont trust most other products to meet this requirement. For me I want my headphones and sound systems tuned tastefully...

IMR Audio : Sonic Adventures & Impressions

I have had another comparison listen and I see your points and mostly agree with it being a fair bit brighter and harsher in the treble which I didnt remember from my initial impressions. However I don't think the other aspects are as big of a difference given the price. That said sound...

Very close to the Avalons to the point where its hard to justify the price difference actually. I could do an eq curve for those if you like.

I prefer the semper to the avalons for sure, they are a lot smoother and less harsh to me but my semper still is a little bit too recessed/dark and has the sibilance peak. I mannaged to steal back the PB1's off my partner and Its good to know my memory of them hold up well. Below is the eq...

IMR Audio : Sonic Adventures & Impressions

So I have been comparing my working IMR headphones and thinking over the differences between the avalon and semper and older IEM's from memory (halcyon, and aten currently broken). I have used a bunch of songs and also pink noise to EQ each model to what is the most pleasant or least harsh...

IMR Audio : Sonic Adventures & Impressions

I can see what you mean here as to me the old driver is a lot softer but also warmer. Sometimes super well controled can come off as too analytical. I totaly agree and its similar for me too. If mine smoothens out its a winner, even though its so forward and flatter. Yep, Lets see what that...

IMR Audio : Sonic Adventures & Impressions

Avalon just arrived for me too. Some wonkiness in the lower treble/upper mids hopefully smooths out with burn in, it's a little sharp. Lower treble and mids are quite forward compared to the semper which now seems very V shaped and recessed. To me the semper has some upper sibilance issues...

IMR Audio : Sonic Adventures & Impressions

Thanks for the input. I have tried a variety of sources, amps tips, nozzles and I I am used to the IMR sound with the other models. I found the RAH and halcyon much smoother and immersive. I would prefer the Halcyon if it wansn't broken. I wish I had your experience NellieG in terms of sound...

IMR Audio : Sonic Adventures & Impressions

Wow these threads are hard to keep up with! I got the Semper, the PB1 and halcyon and I was quite dissapointed with the semper. It had quite a lot of sibilance and I found them far less pleasant than all the other IMR's. I was hoping it would be fixed with burn in or different tips but I can...
