  This setup also works instead of double amping from the headphone out.    Though I must say that I'm not surprised by by-passing the amp section, it sounded much more laid back and linear compared to playing it directly it out from the headphone out compared from to the ALO's new Rx.

Given the price of the EML rectifiers, you can get a nice mighty 596 with adapters at a lower cost. That was the route I went when I had my WA6-SE anyway and it paired nicely with 6FD7 tubes with most headphones in the market.

Been trying this setup the last couple of days, Sophia 274B + 2A3 and cyroset 6N1P. The results have been good as the setup seems to portray warm and lush sounding on the HD800 though it seems to lack the bass punch.   Not sure if it is me but the NOS RCA 5U4G with Sophia 2A3 does not sound so...
