Elma Ladder Atteunater Group buy
A couple of people have mentioned a resistor group buy. Is anyone organizing it? What watt resistors? Is there a preference on type?- phaedrus

Headphone line AB switch
I was reading about the attenuator types linked in the group buy thread. Gold Point has some source selector boxes using their attenuators. The page is here: http://www.goldpt.com/compare.html If you click on the switches, the larger pictures show the prOn, er, guts. It appears left and right...- phaedrus

Tapping screw threads in Hammond 1455 case
I've used an 8-32 tap on the hammond cases. It seems to work well, but cuts into the lid/base panel. Once the threads are cut, I clean up the panel with a deburring tool.- phaedrus

and now for something completely <strike>naked</strike> different
I had a photography class this past semester for which I used my PPA as the subject of one of my assignments. I thought some of y'all might enjoy a peek at the final prints (or scans of the prints). Perhaps not "completely different," but definately "high brow" pr0n...- phaedrus

help with muti-input on a DIY amp...
I apologize for the slow reply -- been down with what ever is going around. The hut.fi schematic is for two single channels combined into one line out. It has to be multiplied to accomodate multiple stereo inputs. My setup goes: 1/8" in (1L & 1R) --> 10k pot (1L & 1R) --> 10k resistor on...- phaedrus

Hrm, looked at that again and I added panasonic pots for each channel in so that I can fine tune the levels going into the amp.- phaedrus

help with muti-input on a DIY amp...
I've built two of the circuits from hut.fi, your link pro. One is a 2:1 mixer and the other is a 3:1 mixer. Both work great. I've also got parts here for the one guzzler suggests, but not time to tinker until the semester ends.- phaedrus

Where is a good place to start?
I started here: http://www.tangentsoft.net/audio/ a few months ago. tangent's articles range from getting tools to building the cmoy in baby steps. It is a great place to begin.- phaedrus

Info Request
The Hanson boards don't exist outside of DIY'ers who still have one or two lying about. A CMOY can be built quite easily on protoboard using the instructions here: http://www.tangentsoft.net/audio/cmoy-tutorial/ That said, someone may chime in with boards with which they are willing to part.- phaedrus

PPA Parts List, a few questions, and a few hints for prospective PPA builders
tangent, I'm interested in the PS and would lean towards etching a board (haven't done that yet) if this is a good learning project for that. I may build it up on protoboard first, for the exercise.- phaedrus

PPA Parts List, a few questions, and a few hints for prospective PPA builders
My best casing investment to date has been the pair of stepped bits I purchased -- the second best may be the drill press currently sitting unassebled in its box on my garage floor. My large stepped bit only goes to 7/8", which is shy of what a Neutrik locking 1/4" headphone jack wants. A little...- phaedrus
