DIY Cable Questions and Comments Thread
If there is anyone in this thread who will benefit from receiving my surplus of cable connectors and supplies that haven't been used in some years, please send me a PM. If you know of someone that would benefit from this, send me details about them in a PM, that would also be okay.- PETEREK

Beyer DT770 Pro/ 80 Detachable cable MOD
I'd skip attaching the right side to the left drivers board, just wire it straight to the mini XLR. Those center soldering points are just another place to add heat and make the driver fail IMO. I can't tell the orientation of the mini XLR but based on the ohm reading it seems like your testing...- PETEREK

Open-Back Mod for Denon D2000/5000/7000 - FR Measurements Available! - Updated 11-1-2011
You could look for a similarly dense foam, and if it ends up being less dense you can put a piece of tape over a few of the holes in the grill to make the inside of the cup more sealed and raise the bass back up to where it should be. If it's disintegrating it's likely not allowing the intended...- PETEREK

Audeze EL-8 Closed Version Impressions Thread
If anyone needs a left side driver, let me know. The right side of the pair I have has an intermittent connection and I can't resolve it, so I'm transplanting different drivers into the shell instead, leaving a perfectly functioning left side driver set aside. Shoot me a PM and your address and...- PETEREK

Beyer DT770 Pro/ 80 Detachable cable MOD
On the right driver you will only be using the soldering points on the outside edges (the locations of blue and gold in this picture). The two soldering points in the center of this picture are simply connecting the red signal from the cable to the signal wire that travels through the headband...- PETEREK

Denon D2000/D5000, MD2000/MD5000 Thread!
Hey everyone, I just realized I still have a very mint condition set of D2000 cups that have been sitting in bubble wrap the last couple years. If I ever do anything with these it'll be for mold making and I'd rather someone put these on their headphones if they're currently using cups in worse...- PETEREK

Just finished my T5P mod with HD800 connectors!
They're too wide man. I couldn't even fit the 3.5mm connectors into them that I use on my Fostex TH-___ detachable modifications. The plastic is pretty brittle as well, so I don't recommend forcing anything into them. The route I went was pigtails for a couple people that requested detachable...- PETEREK

Sony MDR MA900 Impressions Thread
Hey Hanafuda, I don't mind working on MA900s, I actually just made one detachable and pseudo balanced tonight. The wiring is actually pretty simple, the resistors are built into the boards connected to the back of each driver, so the wires from the cable are simply soldered to the board as they...- PETEREK

Audeze iSINE 10 & iSINE 20: Audeze releases two new IEM planar magnetic earphones
Sorry no, I don't think that's something aftermarket cable makers are going to be able to have on their cables, at least not anytime soon.- PETEREK

Cable Matters
I can't really get into that, I'm an MOT. The other thread you posted in earlier shows some stuff I'm currently working with. -
Cable Matters
I no longer use Mogami cable unless someone is on an extremely tight budget and just needs something to get by, utility like you stated. But I'm glad they've all held up nicely for you over time. ZMF cables are great as well, I've been able to use a couple during demos over the years. -
PETEREK (formerly cCasperTFG) MOD & Cable Thread
I tell no lies. But yes, sorry for the missed emails. I do generally only contact through Etsy nowadays and I'm not on Head-fi too much anymore. If you have an open order expect to have it within the month, my pending order list is very short. After that list has disappeared I will take on...- PETEREK
