    ubuntu is based on gnome, which in my experience has always been a bit unresponsive and slow... KDE is, again in my experience, much faster...

    iirc, Mint is based in ubuntu, so if you had problems with ubuntu, mint won¡t work either

    another WRT54GL with DD-WRT here... i also used to have tomato... DD-WRT is more complete, but tomate is a lot more user friendly...

    yep, laser is the way to go... cheaper in the long run, and faster (which is always good when you are running late for class :P ) i have a Xerox Phaser 3117, and it is very good for what i paid (100 bucks here in Chile... should probably be 60-70 bucks in the US)
