DT-990 driver issues.
oh wow, managed to pop out the driver. Turns out I totally destroyed the little dome membrane. Game over for me I imagine, it's like all collapsed and stuck to the bottom. I would have noticed I was breaking something hadn't the magnets immediately pushed my tweezers all the way down... ...- jp_zer0

DT-990 driver issues.
This is what's going on, I cut that layer out but there's still a grill blocking me out. Can I pop the driver out of that white ring without damaging anything?- jp_zer0

DT-990 driver issues.
I noticed some channel imbalance in my 990's and decided to disassemble the drivers to see if there was anything wrong. Noticed there was quite a bit of hair in there and started plucking that out but the more layers I removed there was always yet more hair. After a while of dicking around I put...- jp_zer0

which do i want? DT880, AD900, K701
None of those fit what you listen to very well. DT990 would give you the kick needed for dubstep and electronic. I do believe the others are a bit too soft and polite for these genres.- jp_zer0

Headphones to combat noisy dorm rooms
DT770 are very good if you wanna bash some heads in. Nothing beats the Ultrasone Edition 8's concussion-inducing properties but it might be a bit expensive for that purpose.- jp_zer0

What is your next headphone purchase and why?
Might sell everything I have for some JH13's. I'm getting underwhelming isolation from my RE0's. A lot of sound bleeds in and I can barely hear any bass. Would use the 13's at home too.- jp_zer0

CRT-fi
I wish there was an LCD that was as fast and as black as CRTs, had the viewing angles, color accuracy and geometric perfection of an IPS. Until then I'm stuck with my oh so flawed HP LP2475w.- jp_zer0

2010-2011 NHL season Playoffs start tonight.
I'm having to follow Ottawa's never-ending quest to play up to its potential. We've iced a great team for over a decade but it's never got its crap straight at the right times and for long enough. Melancholic after the blowout at the hands of philly tho.- jp_zer0

An alternative to the M50 if one has a somewhat higher budget?
Beyerdynamic DT990. Murders the M50 in every way.- jp_zer0

Gaming roundup: Beyerdynamic DT150 vs. DT250 vs. DT770pro.
If you're not gonna get a DAC/AMP that's more than 200$, you better save your money and get some bargain heaphones like the KSC75, portapro, PX100, etc. You can't pull serious audio out of realtek onboard chips. Tried uDAC for a while but I'm not a fan.- jp_zer0
