They're probably just jealous. I'd ignore them instead.

Don't forget to enjoy the break-in time. My Beyers have taken 25 - 50 hours to plateau.

I'm spending most of my headphone listening time these days with the 990/600 and Woo3. Love 'em. Let us know if they sweat your ears, however!

I don't agree about the comment somebody made that Beyer are terrible compared to AKG, personally I think the Beyers build quality are far better than AKG (cant see this rubber band lasting long on the 702) & it all comes down to personal choice, everyones ears are different & maybe the person that made that comment found the AKG better suited to his ears.

Basically once you hit a certain price point you cant go wrong with either make.

The 990's sound really good with the X-head, but I bet it would sound even better with a better amp. I am happy with my setup for now.

I recently got the DT990 (600 ohm) as well, and absolutely love it, with every genre I listen to (pop, rock, classical, jazz).  I also tried the DT880 (600 ohm) but found the bass lacking in quantity so I returned it and kept the DT990.  I love the DT990 so much that I just sold my Sennheiser HD650; after 2 weeks of comparing the two headphones of course.

That's good to hear! I have yet to see how high it can go, but I don't really like stressing my electronics.
