My Very Low Budget Nearfield Desktop Rig (Lepai amp and Dayton Audio speakers)
I am not the ultimate electronics expert, but I have done a lot of reading about this amp, and a lot of people have suggested using a higher amp Power Supply, say 12V 5A, or even 12V 6A. I have set at least 6 lepai 2020+ amps with a 12V 6A power supply from Amazon.com with very good results.- BuddTX

My Very Low Budget Nearfield Desktop Rig (Lepai amp and Dayton Audio speakers)
Well, I received my 6A power supply (see below), and while I would love to tell yall that the difference was night and day, I have to say, I could not really hear any difference. Was dissapointed in the actual product I was sent, it was different than in the discription, and the actual...- BuddTX

My Very Low Budget Nearfield Desktop Rig (Lepai amp and Dayton Audio speakers)
I just hooked up this little amp to some 25-30 year old Polk 5JR speakers, and to my Sansa Fuze, and wow, nice sound! Still a lot of life left in those old speakers! I also read that people have replaced the 12V 2amp (2000mha) with a (12vDC) 5 or 6 amp. They say they get cleaner sound...- BuddTX

Shure SE535 or Westone 3 for best isolation?
Just FYI, the Sure Olive tips fit the WestOne 3. So if you already have the Westone 3, get the Sure Olives . . . I have not compared my Westone 3 with the Sure Olives to any other headphone, but I can say that the sound isolation is great! I listen to them twice a day on my Park and Ride...- BuddTX

Maximo iM-490 daily deal.
I bought six! (and it is 5 dollar shipping, weather you buy 1-2 or three!) Great for gifts or to introduce someone to a higher quality IEM! I gave 6 for Christmas last year, to friends and family. They seem to be a newer style than the ones I purchased from Woot last year. My primary IEM...- BuddTX

Maximo iM-490 review? vs iM-390 ?
I have several pairs of these, and for 12.99 these are the best bang for your buck that I have ever found! Would like to find a foam tip (like the sure olives) that would fit these . . . My EDC IEM is my WestOne 3, so I have a good reference point, and the more I listen to my WestOne3, the...- BuddTX

what mp3 format?
I only have a minute to post so sorry for not providing details but . . . I use Exact Audio Copy, with my DVD's configured for SECURE mode (it defaults to BURST mode when you first install it), and also have it configured with AccurateRip. Then I also use LAME encoder3.98.2, with the...- BuddTX

Sansa e280 v1 with Rockbox or V2 for better sound quality?
Well, I am going to answer my own post! I listened to the e280 v2 this morning, I do think it has better SQ than the v1, even rockboxed. However, I have no complaints about v1, so I am going to give the v2 to my friend, and keep my v1 rockboxed Sansa e280. While it is hard to do A-B-x...- BuddTX

Sansa e280 v1 with Rockbox or V2 for better sound quality?
I have a Sansa e280 (8 gig) v1, with a 16 gig MicroSD card (24 gig total). Of course, to use any SD Card larger than 2 gig, you have to RockBox the e280. I just bought another e280, for a friend, and it is V2. Now version 2 cannot be RockBoxed (currently, rumor is that it will happen soon)...- BuddTX

Westone 3 Impressions Thread
Hello! While I am not new to internet forums, I am new to Head-Fi forums, and I know way better than to make my first post a "WHAT IS THE BEST . . . " post! I wanted to upgrade my current Headphones, Maximo iM-490S iMetal Isolation Earphones. And, by the way, for 10 bucks or so on...- BuddTX
