If neither Nio or U12t does it for you, I think you should try the Trio.

Yeah, this has now been well described and studied. The " trust my ears" are easily fooled. There is a whole area of science on psychoaccoustics. But hey, people can spend there money as they wish. However, the differences they think they hear is not a universal truth applicable to others...

I thought the cable myth was busted years ago? Its not a change in sound, but psychological effects? No one passed the blind test challenges 10-15 yrs ago. Having said that I changed my 64A cables. I hated the feel of the stock cables.

I personally preferred the Nio to U12t, but totally get why others prefer the reverse

Have you tried adjusting the 2nd and 3rd harmonic level on the E1DA? Might get closer to the sound you prefer I have an older ifi idsd lying around. Maybe I should give that a try as well. Also still have the og meier corda head five.

Been trying the Mest mkII, and the soundstage is closer thany anything else to the Odin. Obviously a bit less deep bass than Monarch and more prominent mids. The Mest highs are more resolving than Monarch, which is better than Andromeda. But Odin remains king.

The soundstage of the mkII is giving me "wow" moments. What a great iem.

The red FiR 0 looks cool in the Nio. Makes the Nio sound very similar to the u12t in the midrange/treble.

Yeah I have the Odins. I guess its a cotinuous spectrum where detail/clarity keep going up. Its a step up from my Nio, I dont find them shouty, but others might. If the Monarchs are too much you wont like the Odin. Then again, there are IEMs with similar/identical response curves that to me...

And thats the key, if your happy with your gear, my opinion may be of interest, but really nothing more. If someones wondering what to buy, then all feedback may be useful. From your descritions I hope you get to hear the U12t, but they are hideously expensive. I wont even go near Odin...

Got the Monarch. So far not sure what to make of it. Picked it for resolution, clarity - but so far it falls way behind my 64 Audio Nio, whch is also way more expansive. Will give it some more time.

Absolutely loving the different Apex modules on my Nio's. Think I will order and try some of the Fir ones as well. Not only are the IEMs so comfortable with the pressure release, but the different tuning really alters the sound. And not just the bass, the whole spectrum seems to shift - I know...

My undersyanding is the Fir apex modules have a slightly different diameter. Does this result in less isolation?
