    DT990 Pro Impressions Thread

For gaming, either the 880 or 990 would be best as they are both open backed, so there is a better soundstage and for games like Counter-Strike this is essential for hearing footsteps and sounds behind/to the side of you. And better in all games in general, although I do hear of people who...

    Best IEM tips?

Do you mean these? http://www.earsonics.com/store/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=3&products_id=37&osCsid=c674ae370b17f3234bf1c33dff162f97   According to Earsonics' website they seem to just be regular T series Comply, and I can get those easily. Yeah, the Shures aren't too expensive, it's...

    Best IEM tips?

Can someone recommend me some tips for my Shure SE425? I'm in a bit of an odd position regarding tips, as I bought them used.   Basically, with every other IEM I've ever used, I always user sillicon tips over foamies, because it's less hassle, and they don't affect sound. Well on the Shure I...

    Massdrop – All About Manufacturers

    1) The manufacturer that got me into audio was definitely Sony. My friend bought a pair of XB500s which not only got me thinking that I could actually purchase a pair of headphones that didn't come with an iPod/MP3 player but also got me seriously into music, because if I invested into a pair of...

You Know You're an Audiophile When.. Version 2!

This isn't the right attitude IMO. Yeah, you net lost money, but think of the hours and hours of enjoyment you got, the experience with different sound signatures, the times your favourite songs sounded so good. Yeah, all of those past headphones won't sound as good now as your shiny new ones...

    Android-fi!

I see this as an unparalleled plus point. Rather than having to deal with buggy, broken, nonstandard chinese firmware we can get something that is more polished, customizable and more standard.

You Know You're an Audiophile When.. Version 2!

I've never tried CIEMs, and I probably never will until I end up buying an endgame, TOTL pair. Why? All the hassle with going to an audiologist/making my own impressions then sending back and forth and reshelling, maintaining etc isn't worth it if they're a £2-300 pair that I'm going to sell and...

You Know You're an Audiophile When.. Version 2!

At first I thought skerry2006aj was one of these "everything should be free, peace and love man!" type people but now I see, it's refreshing to see someone who isn't bashing big companies because they don't like pirating, but genuinely doesn't know what's wrong. All of these places you see...

You Know You're an Audiophile When.. Version 2!

I just use Winamp. I love the UI, I prefer text-heavy to fancy colours shapes and album art.

You have no idea how long I've been waiting for someone to link this article here. Thank you.

Well the spaciousness is helped by the sparkly treble but I'd still say its mostly because of the near fully open design.

You will definately NOT be able to use the DT990 outdoors. They are too open - you'll have to crank them really loud in order to hear over the background noise, at which point everyone around you will be able to hear your music too.

The Audiophile Bass Lounge (Basshead club part II)

Yeah I really love that feeling of listening to some music you used to like long ago, even if it usually doesn't sound as good as you remember. I had that with Pendulum recently, it didn't sound as awesome as I remember yet I was still smiling at the end of "Blood Sugar."

You Know You're an Audiophile When.. Version 2!

Yup, phones like the HTC One and Sony Xperia Z3 sound great, especially if you have good source material and some tweaks like an EQ or Viper4Android etc.

You Know You're an Audiophile When.. Version 2!

I've done this a few times and it genuinely does ruin my day, train rides are boring without music for me. I feel like a part of me is missing without some IEMs.

Well, it'd be a pretty crap sound card if it didn't have a DAC onboard.

    Sony has new headphones, MDR-1R

Not at all. They are big enough to comfortably fit over the ears yet easily small enough to be a portable package.

Do you have Xposed installed? If you do then Dalvik is default and switching to ART does nothing, and you indeed are crazy.

Review by 'razor5cl' on item 'Brainwavz S5 In Ear Headphones'

Disclaimer: I was sent a sample of the Brainwavz S5 for review. This will not affect my opinion of these IEMs in any way. You can also find this review(with pictures) on my own blog here.   Brainwavz has been making cheap, well made IEMs that punch well above their weight for quite a while...

    DT990 Pro Impressions Thread

Well if the amp changes the sound then it may or may not make it better/worse for music or gaming. The sound of the headphone is universal across all applications, not different for music/gaming etc.
