Perfect Wave DAC Owner Unite
Many have asked this question but, unfortunately, there is no ready to create a new PWD out of the parts left over from a DirectStream upgrade. You need a new case, display and some other parts. PS Audio is not supplying parts so you are on your own.- Wapiti

Many report break-in takes 500 hours. Playing a variety of music and/or pink noise into a load is best. The preamp or amp to which the DirectStream is connected need not be powered up, but the DS needs to be connected so that it is driving a load.- Wapiti

Of course you do. But you are arguing with yourself; no one stated such an unqualified absolute. By ignoring both the context and snipping out the bulk of my post, you have constructed a straw man - and then knocked him down. This approach is entirely silly and unproductive.- Wapiti

As with many such disagreements, it comes down to nomenclature. Is an outboard amplifier "needed" or "necessary?" Of course not. The DX50 amp works, produces sound, allows one to listen to music. It allows one to get from A to B. Is there an "actual benefit" to using an outboard amp? ...- Wapiti

I personally would not be concerned with the charging circuit in the DX50. The safety low discharge switch is in the battery itself, not the unit in which it is installed. It appears the stock battery simply gave up and needs replacement.- Wapiti

While I suspect it would be difficult for you, a gentler touch will resolve the issue. If anything, I have the opposite issue with touchscreens/pads as I naturally use very little pressure. If adjustable, I turn the sensitivity as high as possible. I have no problems with unwanted...- Wapiti

It is both very unfortunate you feel this way and have these experiences. Such behavior should never occur. Do not give up an activity you enjoy merely because some of its practitioners are jerks. I am, however, finding this ironic. I would not know of this issue other than others...- Wapiti
