Denon AH-D5000 owners
d5000 with Musical Fidelity x-can v3 here. Sound is very good. I just received Herbie's audio ultrasonic 9 dampers for my 6922 tubes and cannot believe what I'm hearing with them. If you have a tube amp, you can fine tune the amount of bass of the D5000 by placing the dampers in the...- helios4

Best FLAC player for Vista 64-bit?
winamp. Don't know why some find it slow. I launch winamp in less than 1 second on my vista pc. Very fast, superb interface (bento) and great asio / flac support.- helios4

Auzen Prelude- which Mode do you use?
I "love" my denon D5000 headphones with my MF x-can v3 amplifier connected to the prelude. Maybe you need a AMP for your SR80. a darkvoice perhaps ? note: do not activate the headphone optimization in the x-fi panel- helios4

DAC + tube pre-amp ? What is the best
I want to connected my PC xfi prelude with toslink: -> DAC (toslink in to XLR balanced out) - > tube pre-amp with XLR in/out -> Dynaudio BM5A active monitors XLR in I was thinking of the apogee mini-dac and using a little dot MKIV SE as a pre-amp however it doesn't have balanced XLR...- helios4

Auzen Prelude- which Mode do you use?
audio creation mode 96khz bit matched. Not enough bass ?? Launch winamp, add ASIO support (asio.dll) + resampling at 96khz in ultra mode. Another world, really. I use it with my dynaudio BM5A active monitors (waiting my tube pre-amp and my OPA627 opamps for my perfect home studio setup)...- helios4

Best Op-amp for X-Fi Prelude/Meridian or socketed soundcard if using an amp is NONE
maybe the line out in the prelude is "variable out" instead of "fixed out". If bit-perfect is activated I'm not sure it is important. Correct me if I'm wrong. note: Prelude -> optical out -> dedicated DAC (Benchmark DAC1, Xeces ...) -> headphone amp... Prelude (DAC +OPAMP) ->...- helios4
