I have a couple of usb-c to lightning adapters I bought a while ago, but most of these on the market will only support charging and not data transfer. They seem to be for converting a usb-c charging cable to lightning and not for anything else.
Also, came across this on EBay. ESR lightning headphone adapter. Nowhere near as good as my Ztella or my DFR but blows the Apple adapter away. Also, sadly, no amp. £11.
For me, it made the volume control on my iPhone and iPad WAY better, the volume section is way more real than with the previous version where i was playing with nearly the last 1/4 part of the volume section
so there’s no workaround aside from app? I’m using an older Samsung S9 as DAP with the Ztella attached and I app doesn’t allow downloading music from tidal. It’s quite upsetting...

The good news is that with the USB A adaptor, your Ztella works directly with the Tidal Desktop App on your laptop, PC. It also works with Audirvana too and sounds amazing.
For Android users UAPP is not that expensive and is probably the best audio player for Android phones out there (for SQ) as it is one of the most efficient audio players at bypassing the Android's default sound output architecture as already mentioned by @noobandroid . Definitely worth it and Davey from extreamsd.com is a regular blogger on head-fi and is a great help at explaining updates/answering FAQs.
This is a good thread to check out:
USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android
That's ashame. Is that because the iPhones and iPads are older and stopped updating? I can't download Prime Video on my wife's iPad because IOS stopped updating .

My newest phone is an iPhone 11 Pro or the last Lightning iPad Pro. I have never been able to get a resonse from Zorloo as to if their usb-c to Lightning adapter is special compared to other adapers (the ones I have are fine for charging and synching) but they never reply to my e-mails
My Ztella works fine with my iPad as long as I use the setup I posted above. I ordered a new usb-c to lightning adapter from Zorloo (the new small model). The first one they sent didn’t work at all. I emailed them and they sent me a replacement which seems to work. The problem I have is that the Ztella stops working from time to time and I have to unplug it several times to get it working again. I have a feeling that this is due to it overheating as the usb end gets quite warm. It does it with my iPhone 12, my Xiaomi Mi 9 SE and my wife’s Galaxy S9. I don’t have any problems with my DFR, but the Ztella sounds slightly better, apart from the DFR having a wider soundstage.
