I think this may have been addressed earlier, but I've forgotten....is more decay a good thing? What's the sonic advantage of harder vs softer wood?

Difference in decay, if any, should be minute. I would select the type of wood based on aesthetic preference, rather than perceived attack/decay. I bet given identical HPs, most folks would be unable to distinguish (sound) between difference wood finishes.

Too bad I didn't take pictures on my first try bending the headband after my headshape. Saw Zachs video and thought for myself "Well this looks easy".

Turns out I wasn't so good at bending. Headband looked like it belonged to something from outer space
