What a horrible night, i was listening to music from my Auteur and Aeolus. They both hooked up to the Bottlehead crack at the same time, for some reasons the amp was short out and burned both the left drivers. All are out of actions now.

Unfortunately, i am the 2nd owner. Hopefully Zach will give me a little a bit of discount for both sets. Both of them were built in June 2021.

I used an adapter that you can plug both headphones in.

That is a serious downer. My sympathies. On the bright side, even if it isn’t covered by warranty it is repairable. Can’t say that for a lot of headphones.

I’m not gonna lie, I was always scared of this happening while I was using my Verite Closed and Auteur, I’ve been using 1 cable now as a fail safe. Now there can never be 2 headphones plugged into the Pendant.

I thought that's something you shouldn't be doing in general because you double the load on the amplifier. When I still had Aune S6 the manual explicitly stated that the user shouldn't connect two headphones to the outputs because it will overload the amp.

Oh well, you live and you learn. I just received a Chatham 6080wa 1959 vintage power tube and it sounds awesome on the BH crack, the best power tube i have heard. Fortunately, i still have two pairs of wonderful Vibro-labs that i built and many other headphones that i can listen to.

Just a bit of bumpy road, and i keep going and going. Happy listening everybody .

You probably did this...but did you try the headphones on another amp? Maybe one channel of the amp went out and the drivers are still good.

I did try other amps, they are burned.

Pretty sure ZMF needs to do any such mods in-house.

Not sure about the grills, but the rods can be user replaced. My rods were chipping really bad and it was $15 per rod, just email Zach.

Yep only the Aeolus had easy to exchange grilles with screws. Every other open back needs to be shipped back to swap.
