50 hours usually takes that slightly forward transient edge off them out of the box. I recently got a loaner back from @Hansotek that was built a while back and the first thing I noticed then listening to it was how much easier it sounds than the new sets. Unfortunately for me 95 percent of my auteur listening is for a few minutes with brand new sets as they are boxed up. It's not so bad though! :):)

Yeah, that set has A LOT of hours on it, lol!

Just received my blackwood Auteur from Fedex today.

First impression is build quality is outstanding, as expected since i own a pair of Atticus already. The weight is not as bad, as i expected with the heavy blackwood and brass option. Took a pic, but it really does not do it justice, as the lighting is pretty bad this time a day.

Put some Tool on and now i got a lot of listening to do...

As an aside Zach has mentioned there is now a perforated suede pad available with characteristics between the Auteur and Eikon pads. I'm hoping to get more of the Eikon tone while mainting the air and openness of the Auteur pads; Ordering a pair from him!

Happy Listening!

The ash looks very cool, I wonder how the sound compared to Teak or Blackwood.

Good choices for the Auteur!

On a side note, my girlfriend wants us to get a dog. I said only if I can name it "Dog Stevens"
OK, now that's painful
