I’d love to hear some more about the soundstage of the Auteur compared to other phones than the HD800.
And also how it compares as a whole to the Utopia (not soundstage related since the Utopia’s soundstage isn’t the greatest).

Hey guys! Just a reminder that today is the last day to get in on the discount pre-order prices. I am estimating that current orders taken will be delivered in Feburary. Everything is going to roll out a lot faster than it did last year with the Eikon and Atticus as we just have more staff and better systems in place and were able to order all the parts far earlier. I'm just really excited for everyone to hear the auteur. After working on them for so long it's just fun to be able to share them. Thank you!

As an aside, we are also only selling the LTD Cocobolo Atticus and Eikon through today as well as the Barnyard cherry. We have four or so barnyard cherry units left that would ship before xmas.

Well, the Utopia as a general comparison would be great since I auditioned that one extensively and it is a pair of phones many people heard and praise while I found some of my other cans were better for my taste in sound and genres at least. That would give me a good idea on where I might position the Auteur.
What I'm after in this comparison would be how linear and detailed the Auteur is.

But not really for soundsatge because that's the weakest point for the Utopia while the HD800 beats everything by a margin in regard to soundstage.
For soundsatge? Pioneer Sem1 and TH-900 are two pairs of phones I know well and that have a pretty nice soundstage.
Or JVC DX-1000 which had a huge but pretty much wrong soundstage.
Not sure if you or one of the other reviewers are familiar with those though.
Just wondering what I can expect soundsatge-wise from the Auteur. Does it have a wider and deeper soundstage than your average 1-4K flagship except for the HD800?

I just got the Atticus and Eikon and find it pretty damn hard to refrain from picking up a teak Auteur at the pre-order price, hence my questions. Last day though.

Since we're playing "name that fantasy," I'd love to see an open Atticus. Something tells me that would be out of the park...a moon-shot.

- February means: at least February 28th,
- estimating means: probably two months later, at least,
- there is no mention of the year ...

Try having an Eikon, Ossic, Yarra, EMAC, Realiser and HD6XX coming in, some of them from Kickstarter and Massdrop, some having been ordered and paid for over 18 months ago ... grows steel nerves.

My last two posts are just jokes btw. and not directed towards Zach in any way.
He had my Camphor Atticus delivered to me in under a week and now my Cocobolo Eikon will be shipped in a week after ordering as well.
And we all knew the Auteur was a pre-order.

Oops, I think I screwed up with my wording. Sorry for not making it clear! If you order today your order will ship in Feb most likely. All orders that are in already will start shipping in the order received starting Jan 12th at the very very latest. Sorry about the confusion!
