ZMF Atrium Closed - the latest closed back headphone from ZMF

Am I the only one who got the regular Cherry because I thought it was a good idea to be able to see a headphone age over time?

Everyone got aged Cherries and Olivewood and it got me wondering if i should have made a different selection instead.
I purchased the regular cherry (haven't received yet). I just love the contrast with the black chassis and headband. For me (from the pictures only) I thought the stained cherry was too dark and while the olive is gorgeous I like to remove as much weight as I can. I think the cherry was a great choice.

I'm in the same boat. Between the olivewood weighing more (minor) and the enjoyment of getting to watch the cherry naturally age before my eyes, I went cherry as you can see in my post several pages back. And what a badge of honor it will be to one day own a set of aged cherry. Two colors for the price of one! 😆

Dumb question, but would the olive wood not age as time goes by? 😅

For my part I cant wait for stabilized variants to show up. Closed ZMF are just asking for a gorgeous stabilized resin version :)

Anyone else enjoying the ACs with 300b tubes? I think the ACs’ fantastic bass with the stock lambskin pads pair perfectly with 300Bs.

You are not the only one.

I have been listening to my LTD AC on my new Feliks Euforia Evo tube amp....and it's about what you would expect that combination to be....

is it a good combo? i have euforia but i don't know if selling it. hps are too expensive comparing to 3 or 4 years ago. but i loved atrium and i am wondering about the closed version...

OTL tube amps on the level of the Euforia (OG, AE or Evo) or the Decware ZMF is selling are arguably the best amps for ZMF dynamic driver headphones on the planet. Notice in the ZMF Room at CanJam, most of the test amps are these OTL's. I am upgrading from a Feliks Echo, which is good, but doesn't replace a good solid state, even on ZMFs. The Euforia Evo (probably the OG and AE also) absolutely does. It is hard to describe, other than to say it is addicting in a way nothing else even comes close to. It makes everything else, even good amps, seem relatively lifeless and flat.

Blues sound just so spectacularly great on the AC with the Decware/ZMF Reference OTL.

Playing now this track. Drums and bass are rich and thick, male vocal is smooth, and sax, horns, and higher notes of electric guitar are forward, dynamic and exciting.

I don't know how this could sound better...

Coming from Euforia Evo cant second this. While it gave a very beautiful tonality to many chamber jazz, blue gras and other acoustic tracks, on some tracks, especially rock I prefered a solid state OR my HA-3A which gave more energy to the music. Owning Holo Bliss with HA-3A atm I dont see myself going back to Feliks Evo. Its a beautiful sounding amp that is rather gerne restrictive to my ear.

Hey man, nice music recommendation, as usual. What a track "full" of music (that Roland/Hammond organ in the background...)

Thanks!:beerchug:

OTL Amps like Euforia change so so much with tube rolls it may worth getting one that's more linear. Something like Chatham 6as7g and 6n6 adapted to 6sn7 would get you a pretty punchy, linear sound that should be less milky, if that's the issue.

Not to say the other Amps you have aren't fantastic, as I'm sure the Bliss and I know the ha-3a will less tube roll dependant too being transformer based.

Just a friendly reminder and note that today is the last day to get the Atrium Closed release discount until midnight central time (15 hrs from now). We also will discontinue the sale of the Italian Olive at the same time if you were interested in that one!

And if you haven't read it yet the Headfonics review does an excellent job describing the sonics of the AC: https://headfonics.com/zmf-headphones-atrium-closed-review/

Along with the head-fi reviews as good reading too.

And don't forget to check out the YouTube reviews if that's your jam: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Atrium+Closed+reviews
