The Atrium Closed is our first closed headphone release since 2019 when I released the Verite Closed which has been our flagship Closed back since then. While I still consider it our "co-closed back king" the Atrium Closed brings a different flavour, with a focus on organic tonality, sub-bass rumble, air and punch. While it shares some of the same timbre of the Atrium Open, it brings that immediacy and isolation that really only good closed backs can do. It also introduces the patent pending Atrium Damping System in closed back form, which has not been used in any other model until now. A.
Stock Cherry wood in Natural or Aged finish; of note - Cherry has dark resin and ink line aberrations that are natural to the wood. This will be present in most pieces as we only use all solid wood. We buy the "prime" top grade stuff, and it's a natural and innate characteristic to the wood, and one I personally love. It will age to a dark golden hue over time, but if you prefer an aged look off the bat, we've got that too.

LTD Italian Olive LTD
This wood is pretty special to me as I picked it out and have been hanging onto it for a few years waiting to use it on a closed back model as the wood is figured very nicely. We got it in big slabs and it is one of the reasons I've invested heavily in giant table saws to be able to properly cut and size this wood for our CNC machines. Without those this wood could never be made into beautiful headphones! We will have these for sale while supply lasts - we have a little more to cut but I estimate that we will get around 100 sets out of the wood.

And the headphones themselves; Olivewood is fairly unpredictable, meaning, the wood will likely have small fills, resin lines and spots we either slightly repaired or are finish checks from drying, but the most beautiful stuff always has this. We got the good stuff, and it's awesome!

I pitched this idea early in the pandemic to Steve Deckert, owner of Decware and maker of some of the best tube amps on the planet. He obliged and so I sent him an early Atrium Open unit to play with, and over time we went back and forth and ended at this. I wanted an amp with a little more linearity, punch and 3d-ness than the original CSP 3, and I'm just so happy with how it turned out as he added tons of other bells and whistles too. This is one of the best OTL I've ever heard and at the top of commercially available units IMHO. It's not cheap, but if you're really into dynamic headphones, especially those of high impedance, the Esoteric 49 ohm output design of this OTL will make those headphones sound the best you've ever heard them with that lush, clear expansion that only a good OTL can do.
