Agreed! CO and CC are both amazing on Aegis. The weight in the bass, the mids and the dynamism of the Aegis are some aspects of the amp that I find play so nicely with both headphones.

I based my review of the Aegis on using the Caldera Open and Verite Open on the amp. I spoke mostly about the sound of the Aegis, not the Caldera Open, but here's the summary of the Caldera Open's sound:
  • Everything I liked about the Caldera--namely its mastery of the tone & timbre of voices/instruments, great bass (detailed and impactful), great dynamics and soundstaging--was not just evident on the Aegis, but somewhat bigger and better.
  • Soundstaging was especially elevated. This headphone's ADS already makes it one of the best (if not the best) soundstaging planars I've ever heard; but its soundstaging gets notably wider and taller on the Aegis.
  • Both the Aegis and the Caldera Open are high resolution audio transducers. The combination had me discovering all manner of usually very faint, if not inaudible, sonic cues in familiar music. Note this does not indicate the Caldera in any way sounded "hyped" or overly detailed at the expense of musicality. It was the reverse: all the usual musicality, but with even more resolution & clarity.
I'm not a seeker of ultimate resolution, but this combination took me further than I've ever gone with it, and sounded very musical doing so.

The Mullard 807 Black Plate Double Square Getters are in the amp, and I am loving what I am hearing. There is grip, weight, power, detail and stage expansion for days in all directions. The 807 is throwing a deeper stage front to back than any other output tube I have rolled so far, and most remind me of the 300B. I like a weighty, dynamic and robust sound, with detail and nuances galore, lifelike tone and timbre, and super holographic staging and the 807 is King so far.

I am still burning them in, but I can already tell you this is a very special tube. Fivre and GEC 807 on deck. . . :o2smile:

I bought my adapter from @Deyan, and if you PM him he will take care of you. He has been making adapters for the tube guys in this forum for years and knows his stuff.
