Oh wow, I didn't realize that the Wheat CD had gone OOP. I guess that's why you got the JPN version? Did you fork over the $30 amazon wants for it? Looks like some cheap US copies on ebay but still early in the bidding. Holy $*@%, some of those amazon sellers want a fortune for it! Yikes, $99? Nice CD, but still I coulda sent you a CD-R (I mean, if I was the type who did that type of thing, nudge nudge wink wink know what I mean
wink.gif
)

Hope you like some of that other stuff. Been listening a ton to Harold Budd's The White Arcades which I finally got used in a recent buy from djangos. Both Brian Eno and Robin Guthrie (Cocteau Twins) help him out on that one. And a couple othetrs too. Beautiful stuff. Addicting. Maybe better than The Pearl, which I love dearly. Time will tell, but it does sound like one that will stay with me till the end. And also the new one (and supposedly last one) from early this year is great, Avalon Sutra. He's got a rich catalog with lots of choice collaborations over the years, and Avalon Sutra celebrates many of those collaborations. Better stop while you still can. This whole neo-classical ambient thing is huge

Yeah, I did pay $30 for "Hope and Adams." You have recommended it on a couple of posts that I have read, I did my research and decided it was worth the "risk." (I'll let you know if I think it's worth $99
wink.gif
) I just received the "Happy New Year In Extravagant Music Buying Shipment." that I posted here. I probably won't get a chance to listen to most of it until this weekend. I have five more CD's inbound Do, Make, Say, Think "& Yet & Yet," Califone "Heron King Blues," Califone "roomsounds," Art Brut "Bang, Bang Rock & Roll," and Cat Power "The Greatest." After they arrive I am taking a break from buying music for a month or two.

I am looking forward to the Budd/Eno disc. If I like it I will investigate the others that you mentioned...sound fascinating. Thanks for the CD-R offer I appreciate it. If I have posted something that you would like a copy of let me know. I owe you a few. I can't promise the art and graphics, but I'm good for the music.

Well Doug, all I can say is that I hope you like it a LOT! But just remember, I didn't realize I was talking about a $30 album

I actually bought 5 copies of their EP before the last album came out and sent them to a few friends just for fun. They were pretty cheap and shipping was the same for 1 as 5 from the label (Aware). And it has another version of one of the best songs on Hope and Adams, "Don't I Hold You". And then there's even another version of that song on the last LP.

Anyway, enjoy, and let me know how the bonus tracks are on that JPN version after you've listened for awhile

Blew through a $75 gift card. Here's what I got:

The Hidden Hand - Mother Teacher Destroyer
The Hidden Hand - Devoid of Colour (cd/dvd. Ah, to see Wino play guitar live...)
Sunn0))) - Black One
Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar - Masters Collection Vol. 2.

Also picked up latest issue of Mojo with Who on the cover.

Dang. That $75 went quick.
