Since this headphone came without a case or pouch:
Any recommendations on a protective case - preferably hard shell?

I've already searched this thread and the rest of head-fi, but couldn't find anything.
Thanks in advance.

Nighthawk is much smoother-some might even call it boring compared to the MT220. Very non fatiguing. Better soundstage and clarity than the MT220. Both have similar bass but again, Nighthawk's bass is cleaner. MT 220 is very aggressive and exciting.

MT 220 is slightly boosted in the highs, a bit strident in the high mids to my ears but if you listen at a moderate level it shouldn't bother you. Nighthawk leaks a lot so probably not a good idea for a portable can, although I've travelled with it a lot.

I'd say if you're listening to hard hitting music like rock or rap get the MT220, if you like it softer get the Nighthawk. They're extremely close and the Yamaha sounds like a $500 headphone to me easily. And nothing beats the Yammie on a good tube amp; I've tried it on Project Ember, Feliks Audio Elise, and Feliks Audio Expressivo and it beats out everything, even $1000+ cans

I would be interested in a comparison of this to STAX. As much as I love the MT220, I highly doubt it could ever match the transparency and transient response of electrostats.

By the way, did you know I'm good friends with @goodyfresh? I'm jealous that you let him borrow some of your gear!

I generally talk to him many times a day...though he hasn't been online in awhile, for some reason. He never mentioned me to you?
