Hi fellow X3 owners, Gearbest has a 256GB Samsung EVO+ sdxc card for $109.99 shipped via flash sale:

https://www.gearbest.com/memory-cards/pp_641570.html

These cards work just fine in the X3 when formatted FAT32.

This is the cheapest I've ever seen them! I have the exact same card (though I spent a lot more). It has crazy fast write speeds on a computer - you can copy your entire music collection to it in mere seconds.

These Samsung cards also have a 10yr warranty from Samsung.

Does here anyone uses this DAP's Lineout? What cable do you use?

I use LO all of the time. I just use shielded OFC aux cables from Aliexpress or Amazon. MediaBridge, Vention, AmazonBasics, Anker, etc

I tried aux cable but it sounded like there was some connection issue, like when cables are not properly connected it sounds like very distant and voices are out of place.

It has only aux out or cox out too?

It doesn't have any digital output, hence no COAX, SPDIF or USB out.

What you describe is usually a grounding issue. Have you checked whether the plugs are pushed all the way into the sockets?

It sounds very much like the plug isn't fitting the contacts inside the socket correctly. It's a stiff socket to get a plug into, make sure it's pushed all the way in.

If that doesn't do it, the plug might possibly have bent a contact inside the socket.

Does anyone know of a Rockbox port in Mac format?

Go here...
https://www.head-fi.org/threads/rockbox-xduoo-x3.803844/ and search within the thread for mac

You only need a way to get the file onto your card but you may need the advice of a Mac person, not me...

I found this in post #30

And for every one who wants to get Rockbox to work on Xduoo X3 with a Mac: everything works well if you follow the installation instructions with a micro-sdxc to usb adaptor (with hidden files enabled in Finder)

Just curious, does the X3 play 48 kHz files at the correct speed? I know 44 kHz play fast. How about various MP3 files, are they affected.

I'm afraid I haven't tried those. 96 and 192kHz play at the correct speed with the stock FW.

After you install rockbox you have the option of either booting into rockbox or booting into the stock firmware depending on the position of the lock button. I believe that rockbox does not natively play 24 bit files but downsamples them. So they do still play, just not at the higher resolution. Once you play around with it you will see. Rockbox is excellent. It resides as a folder on your card. Any card that you use in the player needs to have that folder on it. Actually it only needs to be on one of the two cards but I forget which one. I just put a copy on both so I don't have to worry about it., You will find everything you need to know in the Rockbox XDuoo thread.
