xDuoo X2 - small lossless player with microSD and OLED!
Aug 10, 2015 at 7:47 PM Post #1,021 of 2,087
The xDuoo X2 can be bought for $50 USD.  The Sandisk Clip Jam is around $37.  The Clip Jam has 8 GB internal memory and is expandable with micro SD card.  It also has FM radio.  The battery life is also up to 18 hrs vs maybe 12 hours for the xDuoo
Is it worth spending the extra $13 for a xDuoo X2 over the Clip Jam?  Is the sound quality of the xDuoo really that much better than the Clip Jam?

The Clip Jam can't run Rockbox (it's the same platform as the clip sport, and thus doesn't have enough RAM). It also uses a different chip to the one that won so much praise in the earlier models. If you're considering a Clip, you can still get the Clip+ or Clip Zip on eBay for a decent price, but the Sport and Jam are best avoided.

how about ipod 5.5? do u think x2 better than ipod ?

I think the best way to head into this is rather than say is x2 better, come in from the angle of 'x2 is different'. Better is really a loosely thrown around word, there's no promises my better is your better etc.

I think the XDuoo X2 will certainly sound a little cleaner and more detailed than an iPod.

For the cost of X2 its really a no brainer to try and get the perfect answer for yourself.

>Ups, found my first limitation of the X2.
Only 100 Subfolders allowed, the 101 will show but not play - No File Error.

>Firmware 7.0 is delayed, they say, can not solve the problem of sorting the files, the number more than 512.

that's certainly not good news.

wonder if they can do random folder-> random file at least . 'skewed alternative to shuffle all'. but better than shuffle in one folder

HAHA! Just kidding! I love the X2 too much! I'd still like the X2 even if you had to cranky start it with a key. xD

Hey DJscope, can you only describe the highs region of the X2 ? is it harsh or gritty in any way?

It's not digital sounding if that's what you mean. I don't hear any harshness at all. It's crisp, fast and a little forward.

Thanks for the info buddy. I mean I cant stand sharp highs region so controlled highs region is very important for me.

Is there a a way (hidden menu, tweak, tip) to turn the X2's HO to a lineout?
