Thanks Steve, it's actually a drill press table though. I've got a similar rig for my router, but it's commercial table so it's all metal instead of wood.

And it looks like you've got a lot of woodies planned.

Most are slated to be gifts, some were just experiments and some won't end up being anything more than kindling since we turned a few too small and they just won't work as cups. There's a real fine line between what will work with the Grado forks and what you need for a diameter for the driver housings. Not to mention that after finishing the rough turning of the cups you're looking at about 6 to 8hrs of drilling, sanding, more sanding, finishing, more sanding and then final coats of finish. The 325s at the top of the thread have 7 costs of finish on the (2 tung oil, 5 flat lacquer)!

Dayum those are some really nice woody mods guys!

Is it correct to say that the size of the enclosure and upgraded cables are the key factors for sonic improvement or is it the wood that improves the sound? Or a combination of all 3?

Hello all, i am still new to Grado/Alessandro, I own a pair of MS-1s and was looking at these gorgeous woodies is making me want to try. i think that en480c4's "old 125s" are the most in my taste. but what i really want to know is how the sound changes?? is it mostly the same or is it a big difference?, or is it just to be dead sexy???

I know this wont be an easy task, but my father is quite an acomplished wood worker and he will be up to the task.

Course it's possible, but if you're going to go to all the effort, you may as well start with the best drivers you can afford (225 or 325). Woodying an SR-60 is like fitting several thousands worth of aftermarket mods on a ford fiesta (perhaps not a great analogy, since people do that to fiestas, for some reason
