Wolfson DAC confirmed for Galaxy S3!

Can definitely play FLAC, not sure about AIFF.

Plenty of third party players that have FLAC support even for phones without native FLAC support in any case, Neutron has both FLAC and AIFF. Very powerful player, even if it's UI looks like a dogs breakfast.

Not that it was asked, however - can confirm the stock player does not play ALAC...

Oh, I guess at this point it becomes clear that I picked up an S3 today - goes with my Note very well :D

anybody can recommend some good IEM to replace the stock IEMs. of course it have to come with a mic and player controls as well

JVC HA-FX101 -  http://www.head-fi.org/t/586909/the-discovery-thread-new-the-jvc-ha-fx40-page-83-jvc-ha-fx101-page-96/1455
They are getting great reviews (better than my CKS77 according to some which is crazy!) and there is a version with a mic if you want I believe they are called the JVC HA-FR201 (same as FX101) I am about to order to see if they can compete with my CKS77!

If you are in the UK I may be able to sell you Philips SHE5105 for a good price (they have a mic)...I dont use them and they are great earphones (not as good as my CKS77´s though!)

Good luck...but replace those bundled earphones ASAP! haha

A-Jays look like they will only work with iPhone (havent heard them though) and avoid the Klipsch S4´s unless you are a fan of bloated uncontolled bass that completely colours the mids and has very narrow soundstage

TBH your not gonna do any better than the JVC´s if what people are saying about them are true! (Competing with CKS77´s is crazy!)

there's an app for android to control the jays....been reading some good reviews about them here

will check out the JVC....its just weird to see a JVC brand being recommended. haven't really ran into that brand for some time, maybe its just me. and looking at its price, it's really tempting

BTW i wonder whether there's any out there which offers volume controls as well. because the stock have it

Great video guide!

So has anyone tried connecting to other USB DACs?  I should get my SGS3 today or tomorrow, and will immediately order an OTG cable.  I have an E7 and a TubeDac 11 that I'm keen to try to connect to.

I'm hoping to test an E7 myself tomorrow (assuming it arrives).

(oh, and thanks!)
