Which headphones do you use for PC gaming?

Does anyone here use the mod mic attached to their headphones for gaming...I am looking for something for my AKG 701....unless just buying a cheap headset is the better option.

I use the Modmic wireless and I've been really happy with it. I didn't want to deal with a second set of wires to my headphones. If you go that route look on Etsy for charging stands, they're 100% worth it.

I actually tend to prefer using my speakers over headphones for gaming, movies and TV. I think the open feel of speakers and the fact the centre image ends up being dead on my main monitor where the media in question is being displayed just feels more comfortable to me.

Same here, I enjoy most games (Diablo IV recently) on my stereo, but as far as that particular immersion typical for online FPS stuff goes, well, to my taste nothing beats cans here.

I'll give the Meze 109 Pro a go today and next week, compared side by side with the Audeze Maxwell's. I've use the Maxwell so far, they have good imaging and for being wireless produce a decent sound, only drawback is their weight/comfort, can't use them for more than an hour (tops two hours) and after I am done I always have the highest temps on my ears.

Nothing beats the Sennheiser HD800 for FPS. I use no mods but do use Equalizer APO for EQ.

Currently, I find the Hifiman HE-R10D to be pretty much the perfect gaming headphone. The issues I have with their midrange really don't affect the gaming experience, but the incredible bass impact pulls you into the game better than just about any other headphone out there. This, on top of the requisite good soundstage, great comfort, and decent isolation, almost make them easier to recommend over the R9 for gaming.

I used to specifically use the beyer DT880 600ohm, then the 1990's, and finally the T1.2. I found their soundstage and imaging to be great for footstep spacial audio type games like counterstrike. At this point though I just use whatever I have on as a nice set of cans regardless of what they are is good enough even though I would say I think the beyers may have an edge I'm not personally skilled enough for it to matter much and game familiarity and skill will trump any audio advantage.

I started with a Burson Playmate and a set of the old trusty Fidelio's X2.
Then i got the Sennheiser's DT 900 Pro X with the same amp.
Recently i swapped the Burson with an Aune S9C Pro amp/dac. I noticed the differences right away.

Now I'm thinking on taking the next step to upgrade my DT 900 Pro X. These and the Burson will go to my kid's computer.

I'm looking at the Hifiman Ananda Nano's but i don't know if they are good for gaming yet. Still trying to get some feedback.

Any ideas what would be a good step up from my DT 900 Pro X? Budget up to 750 Euros (yeah i know HD800S is great but ... one step at the time :D)

I play mostly competitive FPS, but of course now and then i play some other games other than FPS.

HiFiMAN Sundara or Buchardt Audio S200 speakers, depending on the situation, both options are great for gaming imo.
