If you like the way ie8 portrays soundstage then westone es5 may be your best bet in the custom world, they give you a somewhat distant feeling of sound which is a good thing if you like being in the front row of audience rather than being on the center of stage
didn't go through all the debat but I saw some member mentioned "forward projecton" which I think is a brilliant word to describe such soundstage portration,and I myself also prefer it to a so called "3D" or more "surrounding" soundstage which someone might consider more involving but I have to disagree because I always find the not-so-intimate and somewhat distant sound more attention grabbing .It just makes you want to listen more... and that is "involving" in my book,
