Oh well. I guess I'll have to settle for either one. I don't think I'll be able to return them if I'm not 'happy' with the design.
Someone really should look into this though. There's a good coverage of the difference between pro and consumer models, as well as different impedance ratings, but not much seems to be known about 'bass heavy' and 'bass light' versions or these kind of design revisions. Maybe a Beyer timeline graph should be made for the various models?
